Thanks for the wishes, guys. Typing with just your left hand sucks.
The woman was texting but actually blew a red light and pulled right in front of me; I had about a second to react and saved myself from more injuries (at least Id like to think) but still ended up slamming head on into her...
I just want to chime in and say that while I see a *ton* of people posting claims that octane is "resistance to burn" that it is, more realistically, resistance to compression.
I have a one of these too and was CONSIDERING selling them and putting back on my stock exhaust for a little while; I moved to Louisiana and Ive never had to deal with "inspections" before (we dont have them in Florida) so I figured it might be easier just to stick with stock.
I don't have...
I've got a TB carbon fiber with deleted cat. I can make a high quality recording or something. I know you want to hear it in person but I dont think me being in Louisiana will help you much, but like I said, I can make a higher quality audio recording than you would get from youtube.
Just to sort of completely disclose my setup since we both have TB pipes, I bought my pipes from a member on here and they're just open. I don't have the tips or anything, it's loud but sounds great.
I'm not sure if it matters but I also removed the cat. Well, not "removed" - I wanted it to...
I highly doubt this is what you need to do, but I've got the TB carbon fiber setup and my idle sounded about the same for the longest time. When I did the AIS removal/block/whatever you call it (I have a thread here about it somewhere if you search) my idle never sounded the same afterwards, and...
I have been running it (riding, not idling, obviously) for a decent amount of time before killing/starting it again.
The battery is brand new from two days before we talked on the phone - when I bought it I had trickle charged it overnight to be safe. The battery seems fine, and when it's...
Dumped tank. Fresh gas. Still taking a very, very long time to start. Will randomly start alright 1 of 5-6 attempts. For the first time it wouldn't start at all - starter cranked for about 3 seconds then died. Started on second attempt after ~8 seconds. Starting to worry me. Not really sure what...
Yes, no throttle. Sometimes I try giving a little bit but only after its already been cranking for 5+ seconds. Normally it started in a second, second and a half at most. Probably less. It's done that once or twice, usually right when I try to show somebody how long it takes to start (of course).
I'm glad you said that as I was just about to put the rest in the tank. It's starting normally maybe once in 10 starts, otherwise its literally 6-10 seconds of cranking before the engine comes to life.
Aside from that everything is good. Im having a hard time trusting my gas gauge right now...
I bought some STP Complete Fuel System Cleaner. The tech one just said it was for injectors (at least what they had).
I put half the bottle in; it said to do the full bottle, but that that was for up to 22 gallons. I only had 1.5 to 2 gallons in the tank so I put about half, figuring that...
Alright, I'm going to go grab that from Walmart in about half an hour and hopefully that will help it start a little better.
In other random news - I did that dual headlight mod... I can't remember who, but back in the day (maybe still) one of you fabricated and sold that custom made cable...
Is there anything you'd suggest that I can buy at walmart/autozone/etc? I mean does any fuel additive/cleaner/whatever work?
As for the pump... if I take the pump out, I just hook up the single connector for the gauge with the pump completely out of the tank or do I plug in BOTH connectors...
I just found all my gear and took it for another ride.
I charged the battery but it still took almost ten seconds to start. I went to give it some gas and it started right up - so quickly, in fact, that I'm not sure if it was me hitting the throttle or just coincidentally choosing then to...
So I went outside to put some stuff back on the bike until tomorrow (it's in a car port so I don't want to leave it totally open out there). I randomly tried to start it, nothing.
I put the kickstand up and held in the clutch and... it started right up. We tried that literally 10 times. It...
Alright, so Motogiro and I have spent quite a few hours going over a ton of stuff on here. Where we're at now (I think) narrows it down to the starter switch itself or the wire coming out of it, somewhere along its path. I still dont know how that happened while I was working on the tank but I...
The bike ran for a while after the deer crash. The bike was still in Florida then, and it's been in Louisiana for years since then. I rode it for at least a year with no problems before leaving it here for that extended period of time.
I don't think it's the ToS but I will check just in case...
The thing is, like I said, the starter was *fine* before I took off the tank and cleaned the fuel pump. It worked no problem, AND the light wasn't flashing on the fuel gauge. I guess it's POSSIBLE that the starter failed in the hour that I had the tank off, but isn't it more likely that...
I tried connecting them. Key in, kickstand up, in neutral, killswitch on (ie set to run)
Here's a picture of what I connected, is this right? Oh yeah, nothing happened. At all.
Sorry if the picture is huge. The two connections that have the rubber covers near my thumb - I pulled back the...
