That's too bad! I thoroughly cleaned my rims before I had the bike's tires changed, and mentioned it to the service manager when I dropped the bike off. He said they would appreciate it in the back. I'm not saying yours were dirty, just my experience in how to bring it up that you'll be paying...

Is there really a differece between an 07, 08 and 09 other than color that would inhibit you from using the PCV? This sounds odd to me.

I think what you're experiencing is the infamous steering head bearing issue. If you use the search you should find several threads about it, how and what you need to fix it, etc! Hope you get it figured out!

I think those limitations were for legal reasons, in that a vehicle should not be designed to travel faster than the speed rating of the OEM tire. Our bikes have Z rated rubbers, right?
