congrats and if you look through the fz6 mods threads there are a couple guys on here that have done swaps to other tachs and such not sure about a straight swap from an 07 onto your 06. One option would be to talk to a certified yamaha mechanic and see if they can tell you

hey guys thinking about getting the comfort seat for my fz6, but given that its over $200.00 I wanted to get everyone's opinion on if it makes enough of a difference to be worth that extra scratch? Also are there any drawbacks to the seat such as the seat shifting during high speed cornering...
