also if you had the bike's electricals turned on while re-connecting everything to make it easier to check the power running through the bulb before the connectors were solid could have popped it....not sure it thats a short circuit or what but I've seen it when screwing in light bulbs around...

Ive personally noticed I take it way easier in the car now that I have the bike than I used to, because I think I get the adrenaline rush/speed demon thing out of my system, so now I find myself just putting along at the speed limit when I'm in my car, and blasting around when on the bike.
