Alos if the grips are not original someone could have gotten glue between the bars and throttle tube. It happens. Might be worht popping the throttle side offf to check while your lubing the cables.

Left side of the bike look under the frame rail below the tank. You'll see a silver phillips head screw attached to the throttle bodies. Clockwise to increase, counter to decrease. Should also be a diagram in the manual.

Figured I'd update this since it came back to life. I did go with the 016's and have around a 1000 miles on them over the past week. I am extremly pleased with the decision for my riding style. I'll update with a full review on them in the next couple days.

I did mine a few days ago just to give it a try, I figured at worst I was only out $50 or less to replace the muffler with one on ebay. I started with one 1/4" hole in each side and couldn't really tell any difference. Then went to 1/2" and it sounded good when revved but had a funky rattling...

Thanks guys. I am pretty pleased with them although I do love flames on most anything I really only like the Ghost style or Real airbrushed ones. Also gives me a better idea of what I want to do once I paint the bike eventually. Ohh Yea and haven't ridden it yet but I'd say adds atleast 20hp...

I like all the old vintage bikes, especially those from the 70's. Something about those old Cafe Racer bikes I just love. :thumbup:

Like many others I have long since pulled all the factory graphics off the FZ. I always liked the simpler look to bikes without all the flash but I did find it a little plain w/o any graphics. Since I had the seat stitched with flames I thought I nice set of ghost flames and new paint would look...

Have you thought about having a custom seat done by a local upholstry shop? I had mine done with a gel pad and reshape for less than half the cost of a Corbin and it's as comfortable now as any I have ever sat on.

Most of my days when we go out just to ride avg. around 175-225 miles and atleast half that is in the Mountain twisties. A good seat on the FZ will just about make it a dream to run 300 or more in a day. When I replaced mine I went from being able to ride an hour or so before wanting to get off...

Good deal and welcome to the site. Hit me up once you pick it up there are a couple FZ riders in the area. Plus I have a few guys I ride with on a regular basis. We do alot of riding between Belton, Greenville, Seneca and up to the mountains in the spring.

I think it kinda falls into that Adrenaline junkie category as well. Personally since I was a teen I always needed something to satisfy my wild side. It's been one thing or another but always comes back to that adrenaline rush....for me it started with BMX then somewhat in order went like this...

I usually give the standard two down wave unless I can't let go of the bars then it's the upward nod which to me always kinda signifies "wuzz up". :rockon:

I have a pair of ICON Superduty II boots. I love them. Great for riding and everyday wear. Not as protective as a full on track boot but better protection with similar look/feel to a work boot. I wear mine most everyday whether riding or not. Takes about a week and some leather conditioner to...

I think the saddles would work just fine as you could run the straps under the cowl. Now the tail bag is another story but putting it on would defeat the purpose of the cowl anyway so. :thumbup:

Not trying to doubt you but you sure they were 016's?? Only Bridgstone tire I know of to be put on the FZ6 is the 020. If it did come with 016 there's something screwy about that cause the 016 was not even out yet in '06 and doesn't make sense for a dealer to change tires in a new bike.
