I had a similar thing happen to me got a huge spike in the rear at 1500 miles, replaced it because the nail was huge. 500 miles later got a large staple in the new one....small hole so just plugged it myself rode another 7k miles on that tire w/o issue. Just use good plugs, good contact cement...

I doubt there are any problems. Anytime you dump an oil filter your going to see metal flakes it's all part of engine wearing in especially the first 5k miles. You've got shavings coming off the clutch plates, crank bearings, piston rings, assembly debris etc. etc. As long as you don't see...

That's a real nice FE I've never seen that one, how much was it? But looks like it angles the tag out the back which is something I don't like about most of them personally I much prefer it angles in toward the bike but not so much you can't see it like some I have seen. I agree the lights...

I have both and love them. I use them all the time and they will easily hold what you mentioned plus a lot more. I also have the saddle's but only use them on long trips the tail and tank have thousands of miles useage on them with no issues.

Sounds like to me you are shorting yourself with your shifts as much as anything. Even if you shift at the top of your powerband your dropping the RPM's to low for the next gear and having to build them back up. RUn that thing to redline! Try shifting around 13800 and I bet you'll get more out...
