After five years and 34k miles, sold the Vulcan today, guess I'm officially no longer a member of the VROC geezers:( I might feel better if I go buy a touring bike:rolleyes:

I'm definitely up for planning a group ride, the promise of warm weather around the corner has me jonesin' for a trip through the mountain twisties. How bout we tentatively plan on the last weekend of the month for a ride? where doesn't matter to me.

Welcome to the forum Troy,good choice in trading up on bikes. Soon as the weather warms a little I'm planning on riding over the mountain to try out my new BT016's, maybe we could hook up for a ride?

Got back from a two hour ride Sunday as a friend walked up to the garage where I keep the FZ, as I pulled off the helmet she said,"You always have that silly grin on your face when you've been on your bike." This will be my 41st year on two-wheels and it never gets old.

I got in about a two hour ride today, low sixties and sunny for a change. Bad head-cold and cabin-fever seemed a little less noticeable, Dr.Fizzy to the rescue.

Actually I've found it far more economically sound to get rid of the wife and buy two motorcycles.

Have you read many reviews on the Buell? A guy I know had one and was back and forth to the Harley dealership trying to resolve a rough idle/hesitation issue which was never accomplished. The mechanics finally told him to basically get used to it because of the engine design, ran great above...

Glad you had minimal damage to yourself and bike, scary stuff I know. I was in Madrid back in Sept. and saw an FZ parked in front of the Mineshaft...possibly you or a Fizzy rider in your area? I'm hoping to get back to Sante Fe this summer with the FZ to do a lil touring of NM.

I rode one of the Rokons back in '71, was a pretty cool but weird ride. Climbs like a mountain goat, slow motion wheelies, float it across streams. I remember the brakes not being that good, but maybe it's been improved since then(threw me on my ass on a steep downgrade).

I have a 2004 Vulcan 1500 that I've put 34k on since buying it new, the cruiser is great at what it's designed for. As far as comfort, I can ride the FZ a lot longer without lower back pain that I experienced with the Vulcan after a few hours. The lounge-chair, legs forward seating of a cruiser...

I have the three pieces and have found them to be very easy to use and quite roomy.
