I do mesh. Not as much protection as perforated leather, definitely cheaper andvents a little better.

Get better soon! The bike can be replaced, femur not so easily. Broken femurs are a big deal - they can also bleed like stink! Let it heal. Take the year off. save some money and get yourself another bike in a year.
