Yes, looks very much like our FZ6. I also don't like the exhaust - it's pretty cheap looking. After market exhaust can solve the problem.

Went riding in 15 degree weather with windchill of -9 the other day. On the highway at 75mph it was very cold - a small area of exposed neck was stinging (luckily at 75mph my ride was only 8 minutes on the highway and total of 20 minutes). My Gerbing heated glove thumbs were not warm...

Nice review. In generl, Yamaha wuality is better than Kawasaki. As for the Shiver - many many problems with reliability. Otherwise, a fine bike.

My only concern is of quality...I hope the Chinese infused enough cash to improve the quality of this bike since design is good

Nice bikes. I wonder how the R compares to the FZ6? I read that the R actually has up to 20% MORE power and torque up to 6k RPM. It was hard for me to believe but came from the British BIKE magazine which is reputable. Would be curious to see side by side dyno results.

What I would have loved to have is the triple's engine in the FZ6. I like the half fairing, big tank, center stand, underseat exhaust look, etc...just wish the engine was torquier and the transmission a little smoother in the 1-2 change.

What about head shape? Are they the same? My wife has an EXO 400 Medium and it is too small for me, but I wear Medium in Shark RSX and HJC CL-15. The Shark is too oval for my head and is tight on my cheeks.

Sorry to hear about your bike. My Ninja 500 was knocked over on Memorial Drive one day and the person just put it on it's side stand, but didn't leave a note. You are lucky they did that. It's a bummer since we are having a little time without rain right now.

I'm officially out. I could not find anyone to switch my call for Friday night and I will need to sleep at least half the day on Sat. Have fun guys and if you'll do a nice day trip maybe I could join if it is not too far.

Thanks for the good advice. I agree that times are tough and I would think that I am lucky if I can get close to $5k. As for the aftermarket bits, they are all useful stuff that I should be able to sell - PUIG screen, motivation frame sliders, and especially the diffucult to get Yamaha lowered...

I love mine and use it for a ton of things, groceries, to store my jacket some time, helmet, etc...I do like the looks without it though. Riding you get used to it so it is about the same.

They should have put it up against the GSX650F for a better match BTW, you can get the diversion with a centerstand, so I suppose that could be retrofitted to the FZ6R

So, I'm working 24hrs from 8/14-8/15. I can't really switch since I work some of the other weekends. I could meet up with the group in a predesignated point, say in VT. I would need to sleep on Saturday until 1pm or so and then would need to count on travel time from Boston to wherever we meet...
