my next jacket will be all hi-viz yellow, but now I ride in a red/while leather jacet and a hi-viz vest. I have yet have someone pull out in front of me. Part luck, but part I am sure due to my retina searing gear!

Re: Never remove the fill cap when hot! I used Peak Long Life 50/50 (it is silicate free as well) and no problems since I did it last summer. It is very light in color which is odd. Using a turkey baster made changing out the overflow tank much easier.

Ditto to all of the above. There is much more wind protection on the FZ6 and it feels like a full sized bike (it is). I had 250's and loved them. I have to say the FZ6 feels much more relaxed since you usually don't have to rev it to redline at every take off. But I do miss that feeling of...

I just installed my parts today! I could not ride it, but just moving the bike around my driveway, I could feel the difference, with more "feel" to the clutch than before. Great job Killer noodle and I can't wait to give it a full test!

Well I have the regular length Hyperpros with a stock rear spring and it is great. The Hyperpros are a progressive spring, they get stiffer as they go through the stroke. My guess would be that the shorter ones just get stiffer more quickly, maybe at the sacrifice of some travel. Hyperpro also...

Actually, my 06 swing arm is aluminium, they did change it 07+ to a different shape.

One of the best things is the joy and excitement I get in anticipation of riding. It helps me get through long and cold winters. Plus it is a socially acceptable way that a grown man can dress up like a Power Ranger.

Glad to hear you are ok, but this sounds terrifying. Squeezing the lever and still moving into the car! Just so I'm clear was this a stock FZ6 lever or a retrofit with R6 parts? The mixed lineage of our FZ6 gets me confused (detuned r6 motor etc).

There is a fix, search for Killer Noodle's clutch slave lever mod. He recently started making them again.

I miss riding Palomar so much. I used to be there almost every weekend. Seriously, if you can go, you must ride it.

Maybe this explains why people who have changed the gearing always rave on how much of a difference it makes. The torque is there, it just needs to be accessed. I think I'll for go a 15T front sprocket this summer.

Yes, I was just curious about the second graph, but the explanation about the surges when shifting makes sense.

Check the front sprocket. Behind the cover, chain lube can collect and as the engine heats up it burns off a little bit. I discovered this last year when I noticed a burning oil/rubber smell on my otherwise super clean bike. I cleaned that out and the odor disappeared.

Thanks. I am confused by the second graph. Since it is based on speed I guess the dips are the shift points. But why is the torque so much higher, about 58 ft/lb vs 46 on the first graph? Isn't 46 near normal for a stock bike?

Welcome. Most of the info here i about 05+ FZ6 so not sure about earlier versions.
