Bought an FZ6! Noticed possible hose was cut?

Congrats! Yes, those are factory overflow hoses. As for the rattling, on my 06, the end caps of the swingarm, where the chain adjusters are, can rattle if not properly secured. I know the 07 is different but take a look, just in case.

Really? Again? Barely over a month?

That sucks man! I'm sorry for your crash, but glad you're ok. Idiots like that driver are why I wear hi-viz gear. They'll still run into me, but at least in a court of law, I can shoot down their "but I did not see him" excuse.

    cheapy ebay bar end mirrors

Those inserts won't work with the stock threaded bar. But I think you can remove the inserts and have the mirrors clamp onto the inside of the bar ends. You may have to move the grips inward a bit. This is my guess. I have also seen different bar ends that are made to thread in with a groove for...

New fork springs or replace with R6 forks?

I think you should also factor in the type of riding you will do. I went with Hyperpros and 15wt oil and it feels great! But if you will be doing more track days or very spirited riding, an R6 fork is probably the way to go. For my style, wt, and budget the Hyperpros were the right fix. It...

    RideItMoto Bar End Mirrors

The problem with those included bar ends is that they won't work with the stock bars. They are made for a hollow bar and our stock bar has threaded ends. I think the mirrors would work if you move the grips inward a bit, but this may take a little mod on the throttle side. I believe there is a...

Do you wear a spine protector?

I just ordered an Alpinestars Bionic back protector (CE level 2). My new jacket came with a flimsy foam pad, so I figured I'd get some real protection. Once I get my taxes done, I'll be getting a Leatt STX neck protector. I'm all for getting as much protection as possible. There are too many...

    Protective motorcycle footwear

You mentioned having a wider foot. My wife calls me her hobbit, yes I have wide hairy feet! I ride with Komodo race boots and they are comfy for a wider foot . Great protection and I added a arch support and they are now super comfy. I have also noted that Sidi's run narrow but Alpinestars are...

    Should I use Yamalube?

Alos make sure you get the right weight of oil for the temperature you'll be seeing. Again, synthetics have a wider range. I use regular dino oil I have used Yamalube and Castrol motorcycle specific and saw no differences.

Tire PSi difference cold vs warm tires

36/42 are for 200lbs+ load I believe. While I weigh 200lbs, I find closer to the regular 33/36 psi better for all around riding. I use 35/38 (give or take given gauge error) and it feels great. But I always check/adjust the tires cold before I leave my garage.

Stupid question, anyone concealed carry on a bike?

No, I do not. But I was surprised when this topic came up on a local riding forum (PNW Riders) Apparently a lot more people carry that I imagined. I thought it was a crazy thought until we had that recent shooting and manhunt near Mt Ranier. It does not sound crazy anymore.

Hi-vis law in France and Ireland passed, who's next??

I'm all for hi-viz gear and doing all you can to be seen (just got a new hi-viz jacket to replace my vest). BUT, I think the pressure should be placed on car drivers with stiffer penalties for hitting a motorcyclist. We are at a great risk and auto drivers need to have more awareness. My .02

    My pride destroyed

Good to hear you got checked out medically. Don't ever think of using the brakes as "slamming", firm controlled squeezes on the front can stop you in an amazingly short distance. Practice. Practice. Practice.

    My pride destroyed

Glad to hear you survived. Scary stuff. Needless to say, factor in proper gear in your rebuild budget. Also practice braking with the front. Slamming the rear brake in an emergency is the opposite of what you're supposed to do.
