Use one of these :) Don't know if you have it on the gloves you can buy locally, here they are normal. The rubber feels like the rubber on cage-windshield wipers,- and it works the same way :)

If you lifted the gas tank,- you might have disconeccted the fuel pump,- the wire could be pulled out in the lift if you are not carefull. Hope this helps.
