    United Breaks Guitars

Have you folks seen this yet? It's not a bad tune. ======================================== United Airlines breaks a man's guitar, Payback is Painful Here's a splendid approach by a talented man! A musician named Dave Carroll recently had difficulty with United Airlines. United apparently...

    Stopped by the stealership yesterday...

That Ninja 1000 sure looks pretty to me. My son rides a Z750S, which is a cousin of Z1000, and I like it pretty well. I also like the new plastic on the N1.

2008 FZ6 dropped. Anyone know these part numbers?

If you're anywhere near this guy, his bike is a better buy. It's also owned by a member of this forum. http://www.600riders.com/forum/sell-your-bike-car-truck/43263-2009-fz6-blue-4200-6-700-miles-take-look.html

    Who's got Kawi Versys experience?

I had a test ride on a Versys, and I couldn't wait to get back to the smooth power delivery of the 4-cylinder Yamaha.

Fuel Grade (regular, mid-range or premium)

I've been involved in computer control of gasoline blending systems, and I can promise you that there is no octane booster that will raise your octane by 7 points. Unless it is 100% pure tetraethyl lead. And I'm pretty sure it isn't. Read the bottle and tell us what the active ingredient is...

Is this a good deal on this fz6?

If you can get it for $3000, you could think of it has $2500 for the bike and $500 for the privilege of buying it right now. That's the way I looked at the first bike I bought, a Ninja 500. When it's time to sell the Ninja (which may be soon) I hope to get back the bike price but not the price...

Is this a good deal on this fz6?

I believe the valve adjustment interval is recommended at 26,000, and costs several hundred dollars. I hope someone more knowledgeable will chime in. I haven't yet done mine, or paid to have them done.

Is this a good deal on this fz6?

Back in September, I paid $2950 for a 2006 with 7400 miles. It needed new tires. I'm in the Houston area, where it had been for sale for a couple of months with no takers. Based on what I paid, I'd say the bike you're looking at might be a bit high, so it all depends how desperate you are.

    That would be great. Thanks!

    Tailbag tie-down question

The tailbag is a Nelson Rigg model CL85. I have mounted it in a manner similar to the pics GTP Addict posted, so it looks like it should be safe. Thanks!

    Tailbag tie-down question

Question for the community: I just got a new tailbag. In the most stable mounting position I've found, the straps go across the heat shield on the stock exhaust. Will it get too hot and damage the straps? I'd sure appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience with this. Thanks! Dave

Problem after checking the valve clearance

I'm far from an expert, but I've read posts on another bulletin board suggesting that the fuel line could be kinked, so that it will run fine under no load, but be short of fuel when trying to accelerate. That suggestion seems plausible to me. Perhaps the experts will also chime in.

    Took my first spill...

I'm glad your injuries were minor. I'm not an expert, but I agree with your assessment that the frame sliders did their job.

Have you ever run out of fuel on the FZ6?

I've gone 35 miles or so on one occasion... thought I had plenty of room left, since the reserve is quoted at .95 gallon. I guess I was lucky!

Fuel Grade (regular, mid-range or premium)

I don't know about the FZ6, but my Saab, when it detects detonation, not only pulls timing, it also adds fuel.
