hmm, so the vibration (you can only balance as close as the measuring device) set up an oscilation that increased at X mph, hmmm did you feel any play in your forks with the front end off the ground ? how long since bearing adjustment ? was the bearing adjustment via the fsm, or "feel"...

if you don't mind paying 50% more for things, toss a coin. if you do, get the cheaper one. scratches are cosmetic, and if it devalues the bike 30% I LOVE SCRATCHES !

there aren't many that can't compensate on the fly. don't think I would purchase something that can't. sure, a bugatti with 4 turbos.... but I'm never going to own one in this lifetime.

my fz is serving a purpose: commute, tour and fly all on the cheap. I seriousely doubt replacing w a race replica that hurts just to think of sitting on will help that purpose. right now the purpose is filled, a concours might be an upgrade, but the fun factor is keeping me happy.

new to me fz had dark oil, so I. prepaed for it with new yammi filter and (gasp) rotella. the filter needed channel locks to remove . the drain plug ? a freaking impact gun. 13" breaker bar wouldn't budge it! after the super loose stem bearing and super tight drain plug, I wonder what...

2005 fz6 w 30500 miles: stem bearing was out of adjustment (loose) when I bought the bike. last night I. used the small hammer and drift method to tighten the adjustment nut (top bearing) and snugged (12lbs or so) the lock nut above that. after tightening the tree nut to 90lbs, tested again...
