    Towing with a Civic (auto)

I have a 2004 Civic Value Package Coupe with an auto transmission. So it's the same engine and car as what you have. I have towed that exact Harbor Freight trailer behind it, with my FZ-6 on it. So I can testify that it works just fine. Don't be in a hurry, you will be down on power...

    The fake Carbon debate

Plastic stickers contain real carbon, and lots of it. They contain zero carbon fiber, which is what I'm guessing this thread is about. And fake carbon fiber is gayer than a gay musical called "gay." Fred

A Classic! How to Quit your Job...

I read it that the boss was calling her a HPOA but was too dumb to even get the acronym right. Fred P.S. Yes, she has HPOA qualities.

    Rebuilding R6 Calipers - How much $$$ ?

Defy, I got some of the assembly lube that you're talking about with my BMW brake rebuild kit, but that's the only time I've ever seen it. For the initial assembly, just lube the seals and piston with clean brake fluid. That will do the trick as it has for me in the past. Fred

    Super Quiet Motorcycle Exhaust Question

What Ninja was it? If it was a 250 or 500, then that's just how they are from the factory.

Crazy custom motorcycle found on Digg

I love the look of the Tron bike, but it's doomed to be a trailer queen. If you read up on it, those enormously wide tires are one-offs from a major tire maker. You can get extra tires, but only at the time of purchase. If you can't put new tires on it, you can't ride it. Fred

    chain maintenance while touring

Carrying a can of chain lube while camping on the bike was a pain for me. I'd inevitably get some on my hands and have no way to clean it off. Next time my FZ6 tours, it will have a chain oiler installed first. Fred

    wow... backfire or shotgun blast!

OK, nevermind that test. Here's your real problem, I think. From another of your posts: http://www.600riders.com/forum/usa-pacific/32326-hopefully-some-help-thanks-advance-too.html#post340243 You did not clean the important parts of the carb if all you did was remove the diaphrams and spray...

    wow... backfire or shotgun blast!

A backfire doesn't prove that you have compression. A backfire is an explosion in the exhaust system, so it only proves that you have an exhaust pipe. But engines without compression generally don't backfire, or do much of anything, so I'll assume compression is OK. My first guess is that...

    bike stolen today!!!

This isn't very Christian of me, but then again I'm not a Christian so I'll go ahead and say it. I hope that the thieves got hurt, bad. As for the bike, it looks like it's mostly cosmetic damage. If the frame and forks are OK, then I think you should buy it back and start on a streetfighter...

    Master Cylinder Switch Panel

The FZ6 has a rectangular reservoir. That cap has rounded ends. So I'm pretty sure that it won't fit. Fred

Motorcycles do not make the best getaway vehicles

To be fair, here in the US he would have been dropped by a headshot from a sniper the moment he stepped out into the street. There would be no need for a motorcycle to die. IMHO, the police did not overreact. He claimed to have a hand grenade. This made him a threat to others. They acted...

    FZ6 R6 turbo How to

Turbo bikes are white elephants. They cost a lot. They often have unpleasant power characteristics in corners. They require more maintainance, and they can go through engines on a biannual basis. You're right, the cost benefit ratio doesn't justify it. But on the other hand, they're a...
