    Anyone in Portland?

I checked out the website- it looks like SportTouring Northwest, SportBike Northwest, and DualSport Northwest happen over the same week at the same place. Is that right? I might check it out- sounds like fun.

    Washington state riders?

Yeah I'll go! I've been looking for an excuse to meet some of you clowns in person. :D I'm not too crazy. So is it settled- Mt.St.Helens? Or somewhere else? I'm in Olympia, so it might be a little nutty to meet up in Tacoma, just to backtrack south again to Volcano Country. But no big deal. I'm...

    Washington Ride 6/1 Mt. Rainier

Jazzpaint- where you at in Iraq? I spent some time there myself (and most recently Afghanistan). Head down, stay safe, & a speedy return to the CONUS.

    Anyone in Portland?

I'm way up here in Olympia, but plan on being in Oregon in the next few weeks; part of soundrider-dot-com's Cafe-to-Cafe summer tour. Already hit Vernonia & Troutdale, and soon will be in Sunriver, Government Camp, Hood River, and Joseph. So if you wanna navigate the back roads w/ my wife & I...

    Any 6'ers in WA. ?

I rode Vashon (two-up with the wife) about 2 months ago. Great ride. Actually my neighbor (a Triumph/BMW guy) rides Vashon with his group about once a month, but he's never mentioned the poker run. Anyhow, I think I'm ready to do the ol' Cascade Loop in the next few weeks...part of the...

    Washington Ride 6/1 Mt. Rainier

Monday??? Damn. Gotta work. But I may make a trip out to Whistlin' Jack's in the next couple weeks, now that Cayuse & Chinook Passes are open.

Whats the mileage on your bike?

Bought the Blue Banshee, new, Dec 6th, 3 days after returning from Afghanistan (an early Christmas present to myself). So far: 1630 miles. Try THAT in the Pacific Northwest in the wintertime!!! lol.

    What cover to buy???

Greg: Yep- it's a C-172 behind my silly mug- but the Hawker sounds WAY more fun, especially when a paycheck is involved. My paycheck involves mostly the rear end of Air Force C-17's. Regarding the cover for the FZ6, I may go with the Nelson-Rigg Deluxe All-Season. Seems to be a good...

    What cover to buy???

I'm looking for a cover to protect the '08 FZ6 (AKA the Blue Banshee) from the elements. Anyone have any recommendations for type/brand/size?

What did you do to your FZ today?

I did NOTHING to my FZ today, largely because the weather here has been a mix between hail & snow. She sure is dirty from last week's riding though. And the weather here promises to be much warmer later in the week, so I'll be out to make up for lost time. On a side note, I did get a speeding...

    Any 6'ers in WA. ?

Count me in- depending on the work schedule. Although many of you are WAAAYYY north of me. I took a lengthy ride today- Olympia-Centralia-Kelso (avoiding I-5), then highway 4 out to the coast along the Columbia River to Ilwaco, then north on the 101 thru South Bend, Raymond, Montesano, Elma...

    PCSing Soon

I see "USAF" in your user name here, so I'm assuming you're Air Force (me too). With that being said, are you headed to Ramstein or Spang? Either way, you'll love it. I had a blast, the 4 years I spent at Ramstein. TRAVEL TRAVEL TRAVEL every chance you get. It might be one of those "once in a...

    Military Photos

I'll add my contribution from Al Faw palace- this time from the inside. I didn't take many pictures of my most recent trip to Afghanistan, although it was a lot more scenic than Iraq.

    New member welcome thread..

Hello all- I'm Dean in Olympia Washington. 37 years old. I've been in the Air Force for 14 years, a job which has taken me from California to Germany as well as deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and several other locations ending in "-stan." I rode dirt bikes as a teenager, but recently got back...

TJ Has finally got me worried!

I can totally relate. I lived in San Diego county for about 13 years. I was involved in a freak incident in TJ about 15 years ago which left 3 of my friends injured. We could have easily died that night. And things have only deteriorated since then. And not that San Diego is much safer. Hell...

    Deploying soon...

Corekneelius- Ask your local base/post transportation office about "non-temporary storage" while you're gone. It should be free, if your intention is to keep the bike (and other stuff). Aside from that, I really don't know many options. Maybe a trusted friend or neighbor who could fire it up...

    Horrible jokes.

I can't believe I haven't seen this old joke yet, especially in THIS forum: What's the difference between a Harley and a Hoover? ...the location of the dirtbag.

    How Important Are Gloves?

I like my hands. A lot. They're my two most intimate partners in life. You'd sooner see me running barefoot on broken glass or gravel, than riding without gloves.

    Any 6'ers in WA. ?

Olympia here, although currently in Afghanistan at the moment- for 3 more weeks. Going back home to a cold & wet South Sound- not great for riding.
