    FS: 2006 GSX-R Forks/Triple/Calipers

No, these are USD forks, 50mm up top and 53mm at the lower clamp. Not a direct swap-in by any means.

    FS: 2006 GSX-R Forks/Triple/Calipers

I bought these to complete a fork swap, but decided to scratch it. There is a write-up on the forum about a GSX-R swap, and while it isn't terribly detailed it should get you through. The forks are in really good shape. The tubes do have some scuffs from the triple and various marks, no dents...

How to Install R1 Forks on an FZ6

I don't know if he has any more pictures of this procedure, but here is a photo (graciously stolen from another swap from an R6 on the interwebs) of the ring in question: Hopefully that sheds a little light on the ring, and why you might have to dremel. Though, there must be a way to...

    Everything about fork mods

I'm glad you started this thread! I had been contemplating a similar all-encompassing thread for fork mods, as I've been racking my brain, reading and re-reading all the various posts and measuring and re-measuring everything I can get my hands on or get anybody else to get their hands on. I...

How to Install R1 Forks on an FZ6

Is there any chance you remember, or could get the the diameter of the fork tube at the lower triple for me?

    And it begins!

I hadn't noticed kevlar's bike was a 2006. One thing that Burlington's site says is that the alternative cover is for 2006+ FZ1's and FZ6's. However, I'm pretty sure 2006 FZ1's had the same speedo and cover as 2008+ FZ6 models. At any rate, oemmotorparts.com has the older cover. It's $27-ish...

    And it begins!

How did you pay $60 for the meter cover? It's a $10 part. I ordered mine from partshark.com for $8 and change. Part number is 2D1-83559-00-00. I went to the hardware store and got 3 4x self tapping stainless allen key screws and I was off to the races. Not to sound crabby, but Burlington really...

    Start of another fighter..

The bar ends are stock currently. My mirrors came with the expansion type as well which didn't fit well and I didn't like. When I complete the fork swap and get clip-ons to fit, I'll have a machine help thread some inserts for the bars so I can use the stock ends still as they work rather well.

Haha. I had my truck parked there just prior and the A/C had been running. No leaks from the bike.. Just came back from a full service on Wednesday.

    Start of another fighter..

Okay, so I had to ditch the clip-ons for now. I have another mod in the wait (fork swap), but in the meantime I've pretty much got the front end sorted out. 8" 'Yamaha' headlight from flyncycle, rizoma led signals from maverick and pjs. Snagged the cluster cover as well. Everything's...

    Gaurdrail + FZ6 = Ouch!

I had a similar incident in a corner at roughly 50mph (no guardrail, just cattle fencing) about 6 weeks ago. Luckily I only dislocated and busted up some fingers, and I was wearing full gear as well. Got the bike upright and rode it home, though not as far as you did! I've ridden on about a...

    Start of another fighter..

Quick update.. Still not sure on the exhaust situation. It appears to definitely sit further back than others I've looked at, but there's no play in the setup. It's all as far forward as it can go. I haven't done it yet, but I will be shimming the mount where the can straps bolt in the raise...

    Start of another fighter..

There's no adjustment for how far they stick out, the slip junction is all the way on. They did seem a little low, but also there's not really any adjustment to be had there either unless I use some washers to shim up the mount/fender eliminator where the can straps bolt through. I'm open to...

    Start of another fighter..

I bought the triple with the risers shaved from a forum member who'd had it powder coated black. The powder coating looked nice, but I stripped it and painted it with SEM Trim Black to match the other parts on my bike done in the same finish.
