Could this be the holy grail of fork upgrade!!

Fork kit arrived. Here's a scan of the instructions for anyone else considering. The recommended fork oil was Ohlins 01309 with an oil level of 125mm from top.

My new bike, in the slower blue :)

Nah, Scott's right. You mean you never did the +1 piston mod to your old FZ6?? LOL

Could this be the holy grail of fork upgrade!!

Should be getting the kit on Monday. Not bad for "free shipping" from Italy to PNW USA! The stock forks on the fizzer feel adequate in a straight line but they're far from confidence inspiring leaned over if the road surface is less than perfect. Looking forward to getting the instructions in...

My new bike, in the slower blue :)

Congrats! Looks good..I mean..for a blue bike. How do you like actually having some torque? :)

Any FZ6 Owners in Charlotte, NC

Welcome to the forum. Doesn't sound like anything that can't be diagnosed online. The FZ6 has a sport bike clutch with very narrow range of engagement that takes some getting used to. Ensure the clutch cable is lubed and the lever adjusted to begin engagement at about halfway out. If the...

Do I pay for an inspection after (minor?) accident?

#1 Glad you're ok! A professional safety inspection of the bike would be good to make sure you stay that way and an independent assessment of damages would be helpful to support any insurance claim. The subframe looks damaged from the pic- at least the welded tab mount for the passenger footpegs.

Ear plugs or no ear plugs that is the question?

I had custom molded earplugs made up for me locally for $60 as recommended by another local rider. They're low profile for ease of wearing under helmets and should last about 8 years. I can insert them perfectly and consistently with ease instead of faffing about with disposables to get the...

Could this be the holy grail of fork upgrade!!

Thanks Randy FinalImpact. I'm doing great. How about you? I didn't get much riding in last year, but off to a good start for 2017. 20 practice rides and coming up to 500 miles so far. Great post there. I actually just changed the balance of the bike. It felt too much nose down and over...

Could this be the holy grail of fork upgrade!!

I asked for a PDF of the install instructions to read up ahead and determine if special tools are required, new seals to order etc., but no dice- have to wait for the hard copy. Could a mod rename this thread to "Andreani Misano Fork Cartridge Kit"? I think that would be helpful. I'll scan the...

New FZ6 Owner - Multiple questions

The coolant temp will often rise after the engine is turned off while parking the bike. Nothing to worry about. Just key off instead of using the kill switch to prevent the fan from running down the battery.

Could this be the holy grail of fork upgrade!!

Paulie Myrus Any luck with the install? I am sick of getting knocked around by the cratered streets around here and pulled the trigger today. I should have the set within a couple of weeks from Italy. This ebay seller appears automated to counteroffer $530 and no lower: Andreani Misano Fork...

so whats wores than a broken clutch cable?

Heck of an adventure! Nice one for rigging up a fix on the road. I'm surprised the clutch didn't feel a bit off before it snapped. I just replaced mine again this spring.

    Tracer 700 revealed by Yamaha

Looks pretty good, especially in red. Doesn't have the short sidewall sportbike rear tire. Guessing 160. Another link: Yamaha expands its Adventure Touring lineup with the Tracer 700

    January 2016 BOTM - winner - agf

Re: January 2016 BOTM - uploads enabled I'd like to get back into this game. With the weather I just need to go to double max pressure and acquire a nice pair of fast red oars.

    Don't you hate screws.....

Sorry to hear you got screwed :( When you get your hands on the new tire make sure it's not one of those magnetic ones. ;)

    Something new from Yamaha..!

I think the front end looks ridiculous as well. I'm sure it'll come to the US and my prediction is they'll call it the FZ-10. That follows the the naked FZ-09 and disconnects it from the half-faired FZ1.
