I'd favor the newer one for the upgraded brakes, swing arm, analog tach, wind shield options, easier resale down the road. Since you have no maintenance documentation, plan on at least changing the plugs and all fluids. Check the date code on the tires as well and consider replacing...

It's been my experience that magnets come in brand new tires. :eek: (had a huge nail in a newly mounted bridgestone a few years ago)

Mine needs nothing except miles. I'll be getting a bit of riding in around the weather and aim to snap some BOTM material.

Yikes. Although I wonder if that's really vandalism. My last bike had its tread actually split across the tire looking similar to that. I assumed the previous owner locked the rear at some point and the tread couldn't handle it. Regardless- glad you caught it and are getting some new rubber...

Thanks Randy. I wish I had this discussion sooner. The bike has given me a falling sensation on turn in on several occasions at moderate angles of lean, and I wonder if it was simply the tires squirming due to inadequate pressure. I'll look for breaks in the weather to get some more testing...

I made it through with no drama via unmounting the radiator as above. Having large hands slowed things down but still easy enough with the Fizzer toolkit.

I gave Pirelli's recommended pressures a try for a quick ride today around town. It did feel more connected and responsive. More testing needed.

Looks like a really nice practical bike. It's out-of-the-box in-line with many of the popular upgrades to the FZ6. ABS, adjustable suspension, lower center of gravity and gear indicator are all appealing over the old fizzer. Hopefully the throttle response is fixed over the FZ09. Definitely...
