*Minor Gore* Ankle protection? (Not boots)

Boots FTW! I keep a pair of sandals at work for office stuff and a pair of shoes for when I'm in the warehouse. I wouldn't even consider riding without my Sidi's. A cheap solution might be to put your work boots/shoes in a small duffel and strap it behind you on the seat.

    FZ6 featured on Killboy.com Blog

Nice picture! It's always cool to have a regular photographer post up a picture. We have a guy on Palomar that snaps pictures, but doesn't comment on them blog style. Looks like both of you had fun on the road!

    Help! My FZ is oozing!

I had a drip this weekend so I pulled the sprocket cover and sure enough it was chain lube accumulation. Wiped everything clean and good to go.

    2008 Benelli 1130 Cafe Racer

Not a big fan of the cafe racer. I like elements of it, but the stark contrast between sharp edges on the body, tank, tail vs. the round, and red, contours of the frame really cause a clash in my opinion. Visible round frame = sleek curves of the body. Visible sharp, flat frame = sharp, flat...

    My new track bike :D

lol, I was actually thinking the same thing. I have a friend that's going to a trackday in April and am starting to think track days will be perfect places to practice action shots with the SLR. Plus I'd get to see the bike ready to run and experience a track day. Win, win, win. ;)

    Jet ski crash

It was deffinetely the stand up paddle boarder that got attacked by the jet ski. I have, and ride, jet skis and it's the same as street bikes, some people shouldn't be on then and sometimes accidents happen. Hope everyone involved is alright.

Lost a fellow rider and good friend

RIP Rider :( . I think I head about this on another board and hate seeing this kind of news. Be careful out there.

    over pants???

I have a pair of Olympia Motorsports Airglide 2 overpants and love them! I got a pretty good deal at a BMW motorcycle shop and wear them anytime I go on a long ride, or commuting in traffic. With the rain liner in they are a complete waterproof package and the liner also helps on...

Let's see pics of your garage...

I use my parent's garage to work on my cars and the bike, so figured I'd post up a picture of theirs. It's normally full with cars, so one does need to be backed out to work on something else. My garage is more of a party room for myself and roommates. I'll snap a picture after cleaning...

    The best type of touring

I put something else. My weekend rides are typically 100-200 miles and I consider those fun rides vs. touring. I haven't done any true touring yet, but the mileage per day would be dependent upon my destination. I could see 300-400 easy and 500-600 if needed to get to a good location or hit some...

    What GPS do you use?

I do a lot of hiking and camping, so my GPS is a handheld Garmin 60CSx. I have both topo and street maps on separate SD cards, so it's easy to swap. The 60 fits in the "map pocket" of my Joe Rocket manta bag and I use it to get me home after I get lost, or to follow a pre-made route if I'm...

    Racing Crashes - Vid

I winced the most at the guys running into crashed bikes as well. Those and the one rider on the red bike who slides into the soft barrier, his head falls forward, and the bike rockets airborne right above his head; I hate that one.

Withdrawing an ebay item with bids? Help!

I googled and found this, it might help: Edit** I also found something saything this isn't possible if there's less than 12 hours left on the item. Might require more research. I also don't know how many Ebay TOS rules this breaks** Re: Withdrawing an item from eBay > I have a problem. I've...

I think my bike is having dreams

SovietRobot has it right, it's a Joe Rocket Manta bag. The "map pocket" is perfect size for my Garmin 60Csx GPS, but it wouldn't hold an actual map visibly. For me it's perfect because I don't carry much other than my camera, keys, garage remote, and snacks.

    Finally got to ride

Not having a lot of time under your belt and taking some time off due to weather will both effect your comfort. The more you ride the more comfortable you'll be and seat time is really where you learn. So as you get more miles and months in the saddle you'll feel more comfortable and if you do...

    Washing the bike

I do the same. After each ride I hit the swing arm, rear fender, and other grimy places with a gentle cleaner and then rinse and wipe off with a microfiber. I then use detailing spray and different microfibers to clean everything else. I'm spoiled though, my dad is an Adam's Detailing...

    First ride after purchasing?

When I bought my bike I had the pleasure of wheeling it the the back of the shop and then into the back of my truck. :D I only had a permit and not my license, so I wasn't able to take it on the freeway. As soon as I got it home I went riding all over town.

I think my bike is having dreams

Caught me :D. This weekends ride was 99% on the road. This was a few weeks ago. Was doing fine until the washboard turned into mini whoops sections. I turned around for fear of ratteling the poor fizzer to death. I'll save true off road for the dirt bikes.

I think my bike is having dreams

Thanks! Don't tell anyone, but it's the fastest too..at least between the '07 red and blue. ;)

I think my bike is having dreams

Of being a dual sport! Went on a long loop through some of Southern California's best desert roads. I love the twisty roads to, through, and from the desert and could probably spend years exploring on and off road. :) Pulled the tank bag off to have lunch and cleaner lines on the bike...
