Is this going to be a problem...?

As it sits today with the new to me throttle body, installed and everything! POW! The tool that made it all happen, a 3mm allen wrench, broken at the joint and jimmy-rigged into a 4mm socket with arm extension. Whew! This was a mighty fine install!

Is this going to be a problem...?

IT’S ALIVE!!!!! :BLAA: A huge thanks to FinalImpact for taking time out of your evening and performing the heart transplant. As previously stated, she is running great and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. I went for a ride on Sunday and compared the feeling to what I previously...

    and my pride is hurt...

Ah, sorry to hear…demoralizing, I know. At least it occurred in the beautiful setting of The Gorge. I’m discovering more and more Oregon riders on this forum, we’re coming out of the wood work!

    1st Oil Change – Recommendations?

I’ve read about the Rotella T6, full synthetic and it does sound like a nice all around balance. How many quarts does the FZ drink?

    1st Oil Change – Recommendations?

I’m approaching a 1,000+ trip to California in a few weeks as well as my first oil change as the new owner of my machine. Not to start another oil debate, but for some reason searching for previous oil related threads pulls back too much off topic conversations and I’m still not finding what I...

Rear tire losing traction when braking hard

Yup, excessive rear brake indeed. To be honest, I rarely touch mine as I use my fronts 99% and never have any issues.

Is this going to be a problem...?

My pre-purchase inspection consisted mainly of an electrical review after some issues I had previously with an R6. Also considering the bike was converted naked and I was inspecting for any shady electrical. Non found. I actually spoke with the electrical engineer who performed the work. I...

Is this going to be a problem...?

Tell me about it. I spoke to the previous owner today via e-mail, he had no idea about it. He only owned the bike for a short period and was either playing dumb or truly had no idea. It's in my hands now...bring on the e-bay. FinalImpact...where in OR?

Is this going to be a problem...?

More updates for everyone. I'll get to the pics: I picked away at the silicone and sure enough, found a hole: You can see here, the cylindar that mounts to the casting broke. More silicone on the outside of the tubes to reconnect the broken mount. Here is the top view...

Is this going to be a problem...?

Sure thing! I'll post some pics over the weekend after I investigate tonight.

Is this going to be a problem...?

Yeah I know the previous owner and I'll reach out today. I'm also planning to deep dive this issue tonight and explore any further damage around the TB's prior to buying this e-bay part or taking a different direction. Thanks for everyone's help!

Is this going to be a problem...?

That would pretty much solve it right there? I don't think I need anything more than just the casting. What do you think...do you know something about this portion of the engine I don't...I'm fairly new to this?

Is this going to be a problem...?

No hint or indication the engine was ever removed, but I will be going through everything with a fine tooth comb on Saturday. I also plan to remove the material inside the TB & the zip tie. I’ll snap a few more shots (close ups) and follow-up with more questions/findings after this weekend...

From touring to naked...now touring naked!

Pure sex. The exact look I’m going for minus the top case, but you already knew that! Looks dynamite!

Is this going to be a problem...?

Prior to my purchase, the bike was dropped in the garage and then converted naked due to the high expense of yamaha factory fairings. My first thought, this piece broke during the tip then discovered when the naked conversion started. I tore the bike down to the airbox and inspected...

Is this going to be a problem...?

Thanks! I took apart the entire tail section, headlight assembly, tank, air box, clutch & battery console to inspect it all. All clips were functional and nothing struck me as being odd these these two did. Where else would you suggest I explore?

Is this going to be a problem...?

I believe it's the casting on the TB. The part seemed extremely weak when I found it as if a part that would/could break easy. I applied pressure around the area, tugged and pulled around a bit...it seems VERY solid. I just need a more professional eye. The rest of the bike looks great.

Is this going to be a problem...?

During my handlebar install over the weekend, I took off my air box/battery to maneuver wires around the battery casing to clean up the front end a bit. While in there with all this exposed, I noticed two things that may be an issue and I wanted the eyes/feedback of others. 1. Noticed a broken...

    Thanks Defy!

I think it's a great kit. Sportbikes can be so cookie cutter and it's refreshing to ride something a little on the unique side. One light for lows and one for highs...it looks sharp. Good luck-
