    Front Dash/Fairing alignment

I have the same issue on mine, and was a result of it being knocked over. It could either be the main fairing stay (the piece which attaches the fairing to the headstock part of the frame, 14 in the helpful pic above) has been bent slightly, or possibly one of the other two smaller fairing...

head light UK vs Europe models

Yes it's one unit for the Fazer, and I bought it off a guy for 90 euros, but I am sure you could find it cheaper if you looked hard enough. If you buy it new from Yamaha it's very expensive! Did all the work myself and was fairly easy.

    Adjusting headlight

Yes, I don't know if you can reach the adjusters without removing the headlight. Which in fact makes it a real pain to set your beam pattern as you'd have to adjust a little bit, re-mount, take off again for any fine tuning etc! Good luck!

    Rear Brake Old-biker advice

Front brakes have much more stopping power than the rear. For me it's always my main brake, but I do use the rear brake quite a bit too. It depends on the situation of course. Emergency braking = both. Normal riding mostly front, with a little rear if needed while cornering to avoid...

head light UK vs Europe models

Yeah if it's already on Dutch plates why bother changing?! :spank: If you are worried about blinding other motorists then either do the cheap (and less exciting) mod of a simple headlight unit change. Or if you want something cool, got for the projectors!

    Adjusting headlight

Oops! I just read your post a little more clearly and you have the naked version! So, if you take the headlight off you only have one screw adjuster for vertical and 1 for horizontal. Vertical is at 8 o'clock to the bulb and horizontal is at 2 o'clock! The same info applies for setting up the...

    Adjusting headlight

Good news! There are a couple of adjuster screws on the headlight unit. If you have a Fazer you have to take some of the fairing panels off to get to them easily though. There are 2 screws for adjusting the horizontal beam and 2 for the vertical. As you look at the headlight unit from the back...

head light UK vs Europe models

I've just changed my UK headlight to an EU one, as I imported my UK bike to France. You can't just swap the bulbs or adjust the reflectors unfortunately, you need a complete headlight unit change. This is because the bulbs need to change sides, and the reflectors have different sized holes for...

    Official image: GSR750

Agreed! I think it's actually worse than our beloved FZ6's swingarm! The rest of it looks great though - a Kawasaki Z750 beater maybe? I'd certainly choose it over an FZ8!!!!

Bike knocked over - subframe question

Ah man that sucks! It's happened to me before too, but no-one bothered to pick mine up after, or even knock on some doors to see who owned it and inform them. The damage on mine was limited, I guess I was lucky! But there were of course a few scratches here and there, and the main fairing...

    I love my Fazer!

It is just an incredible bike! Yamaha did a great job on this, and it's such a shame that they have brought it to an end. I don't think the XJ6 Diversion is a patch on it really, and the FZ8 (seemingly designed to plug a gap in the market) falls short in terms of the competition from other...

    The Rant Thread

I have a need for a rant! It's a long one! I've just finally completed the importation of my bike from the UK to France. But dear god what a load of bureaucratic rubbish I had to go through! And holy cr@p it's cost me an absolute fortune! If I'd have known it would be so hard and complicated...

    I love my Fazer!

Obviously we all love our bikes, and there are so many reasons to! What an amazingly versatile machine the FZ6 is. How incredibly reliable it is. How much fun it is. How much we can mod it! What else do you love about your FZ6? My poor Fazer has spent almost a year in the garage due to no...

Help with Top case for upcoming ride

I've got the same Yamaha 46 litre top case. I like the rack as it attaches to the hand rail and when you don't have the case on it doesn't look too bad. However it can be a little uncomfortable for a passenger trying to hold on to the hand rail. Also, there was no back rest pad so the case is...

close your gas cap without the key...for free of course

Yes I too am worried about keys scratching up the tank, that as well as I seem to be so flipping clumsy (especially if I still have my gloves on!) and am more than likely to snap the key off in the tank cap! :spank: I managed to convince the missus we needed a Dremel for some DIY stuff we...

    Sat Nav Advice

Hey Andy, There's been lots of threads on here about Sat Navs, if you do a search you should be able to find lots of info. I've got a Tomtom Rider and I think it's great. You can wire it to the bike's battery for charging on the go. It's got a bluetooth headset and if you have a bluetooth...

    Tail pack or panniers?

I've got some cheap soft luggage. It works fine and came with rain covers. It's an RDM set (smallish tankbag, tailpack and panniers) and I got them from Infinity Motorcycles for £64.99. Not a bad price! You can get more expensive Oxford sets but not sure how much better they are. There's...

import a US model into France

It's a nightmare! I am trying to import my UK Fazer to France at the moment and it's quite complicated, but at least it's a European bike. With a bike from outside the EU it's more complex. You might have to pay an import tax (not sure though), do the controle technique and probably have an...

    Finally going naked!

Cool, I've been thinking about going naked too but just don't have the money for the mods right now! Wavex has done some awesome write ups and tips about going naked I think. Do a search. There's vids and everything!
