    Snow Joke!

The snow's been a right pain! I take the bike to work as the missus takes the car, but coming back home last Wednesday, although fine on the motorway, was like ice speedway once I got into the little back roads towards home! I was surprised at how well the Pilot Road 2's did once they were warm...

    Centre stand

Hey Youngy, I took my centre stand off last season to improve the look, plus I was always a bit worried about it getting caught when cranking it right over in the twisties. Took a while to get it off thanks to the threadlock, and was a bit of a pain in the bum as I found I had to remove the side...

    The Cheech

Ah sorry to hear about that. By the way, in the last picture it looks like he has the dual headlight mod - a true FZ6 cat!

Oxford Heated Grip / Hot Grip

I've got some Daytona hot grips on my Fazer. They were already put on by the previous owner but he had wired them into the lights or ignition. This is invaluable if you are forgetful like me! I've read many a story on here from people leaving them on and finding a flat battery next time they go...

    Worst oil change ever...

Been there and done that with the oil filter! K and N ones definitely seem the way to go. By the way - too cold to ride at 3 degrees celcius??? :spank: Did my commute home in about -3 this afternoon! It'll be -5 tomorrow morning :( My poor hands were frozen! The hideous handlebar muffs...

    2 naked FZ6, 2 couples, 4 days, 2286km / 1240 miles

Nice! Thanks for sharing. Lots of miles in one day! Nice luggage set up too! Look forward to more pics - what is it with managers eh? Always asking you to do something called 'work'.... :D

    The Ashes 2010-11

Favourite ever sledging quote ever (sadly not from the Ashes): McGrath to Brandes: Aussie paceman Glenn McGrath was bowling to Zimbabwe number 11 Eddo Brandes – who was just missing each ball. McGrath, frustrated, went to him and inquired: “Why are you so fat?” Quick as a flash, Brandes...

    oil drain bolt gasket missing?

As others have said it's not the most important. My first oil change I did a couple of years ago and there wasn't one on there from the dealer first service. I also didn't have one in the new filter box so didn't bother putting one. 5000 miles later no worries. When I changed the oil the other...

    We have our own STIG!

There's only one true Stig, and he can never be replaced. Oh...wait a minute...

    What makes FZ so heavy?

When you sit on a bike the 'feel' can be down to the centre of gravity as well as the overall weight. As others have said the FZ6 has a heavy exhaust mounted higher up, as well as other parts adding weight. When you lean the bike over it'll feel like it wants to topple sooner than an R6 would...

    Helmet cams???

The Oregon Scientific ATC2K is not bad, but the Go Pro HD has to be probably the best out there. Sadly it's almost the most expensive! I've got the ATC2K and have used it on the Fazer before. The image quality isn't bad in fact, but the microphone is pretty poor. It comes with lots of...

Would love to see the look on the cops face...

I have one question....Why? Why oh why oh why!

    My first accident.

Sorry to hear about this dude, but really glad you're ok and on the mend. Hopefully everything heals well and you'll be 100% in no time! It's a reality check though about what you said about using the insurance money to pay the bills. Generally I ride pretty safe but of course like some fun...

Did Some Moto Camping on the Coast this Weekend

Thanks DefyInertia! Great pics and thread! You guys are very lucky in the States to have access to the big outdoors like this - the true wild places. What a beautiful country. There's nothing more wonderful than strapping a tent on the back of a bike and hitting the road. I already have a...

    Nailed at 8k

Darn nails! Although your tyres look like they could last a little longer, that nail looks pretty nasty. You could plug and patch but on well worn tyres is it worth the risk? 8k miles isn't bad for a set, so if you can afford it I'd say go for a new set front and back. Michelin Pilot Road 2...

Intake AIR TEMP - Fahrenheit to Celsius ?

I don't think it's possible. I've had a look through the manual and it just says about switching between the different functions, not changing the units of measurement (with the exception of mph to kph).

Is $500+ needed for an easy to install top case system?

I presume it's a Yamaha rack. The top case is a Yamaha one. The guy I bought the bike form had it fitted by the dealer when he bought it brand new. I really like it, and have just put it back on as the bike is my main mode of transport at the moment. Install is so easy a 5 year old could do it...

Is $500+ needed for an easy to install top case system?

What a filthy looking bike Mick! I know you've had major droughts in Oz but give her a wipe at least! *hurries off to clean equally filthy bike* :D

Is $500+ needed for an easy to install top case system?

Yes this a lot to ask! If you want to meet all or most of these things then it will cost money. I for one wouldn't bother with the brake light. Most top cases have big reflectors. Each to their own of course, and it is an added safety. Judgment call at the end of the day. A case big enough...

    Bit confused about Fazer versions...

The FZ6R is another completely different bike, and doesn't carry the Fazer name at all. In Europe it has the name XJ6 Diversion. It's also available as a naked (XJ6N) model and fully faired. It 'replaces' the FZ6 which has been discontinued (although still available to buy in some European...
