    Fz6 uk 2010?

In today's MCN, an addition to next year's XJ6 range: New fully-faired Yamaha XJ6 Diversion - | Motorbike reviews | Latest Bike Videos | MCN Anybody heard (from a dealer, or Yamaha) for sure whether the FZ6 will be in Yamaha's UK range next year? Not thinking of changing/selling, just...

    Removing Baffles

Yes, Devils. Took the baffles out right away = loud Just fitted Arrow decat pipe = very loud but makes the bike feel even more responsive I think the consequences to consider are: - need better earplugs if you really wind it up - put the baffles back in if you're going somewhere you might get...

    exhaust replace cat mid pipe

I asked my dealer here in the UK to get and fit one from here: B&C Express - Arrow Exhausts -> Yamaha As I've an 08 FZ6 we had to be sure it was the right mid pipe ie ref: 71371MI. I had Devil end cans already fitted and the mid pipe fits fine but pushes the Devils back out about 2cm ie they...

    Shopping for Exhausts

Devil cans db killers out + decat pipe = too loud! I'm going to have to put the db killers back in or I'll get lifted soon. Nice to know I can make that amount of noise if I need to!

    Fitting (much) higher aftermarket screen

Hi - I'm after some advice if you've fitted a screen higher than the Yamaha accessory 'touring' screen, which on my bike looks fine: Problem is I'm getting a lot of windnoise around my helmet and I think it's because I'm in the turbulence zone. If I crouch down nearer the tank, the windnoise...

    Anybody Know about Motoguzzi???

Hired one for a day to impress a Government Minister I was going to see who's into Italian bikes and cars. Felt positively agricultural i.e. like a tractor compared to the FZ6. I wouldn't recommend it. I do like the look of them, though, particularly this one:

    Breaking in new tires

+ 1 on what the other posts say. I've just fitted a set of Pilot Road 2s and they gripped from the word off.

    I upset my bike,

Good call. I had a R1200RT SE and it's a great bike of course, but too heavy for me (had to get assistance every time I dropped it) and expensive! Just fitted a cat elim pipe and Pilot Road 2's to my FZ6 and I've been tearing up the commuter traffic like a good un' these past few days of...

    Sold my FZ6

All the best. I've gone the other way - I've had 3 different model R1s over the years, now on a Fazer S2. I really, really enjoyed them and am sure you will too. I remember your post a while ago about your local roundabout GP. I don't know if you've done track schools/track days, but a...

    Track Day

Absolutely, give it a go, you'll hopefully learn a lot and have a great time. I suggest you try either Donington (wide track, lots of tarmac) or Oulton Park (very scenic, some great corners). Look forward to seeing your pics!

Calling all those with Devil cans

Just wanted to report back...Arrow decat pipe now fitted and boy, is it louder. Throatier sound, too and the engine hunts just a little at idle, which I like. The decat pipe pushes the Devil cans backwards a couple of centimetres, which I don't mind at all (after all, I paid a lot of ££ for...

Calling all those with Devil cans

Thanks for your posts, guys - my dealer's now identified the correct Arrow kit and has it on order! Looking forward to hearing/feeling it installed... Thanks also for the idea to take a screwdriver to the inside of my cat - that'll be my Plan B then!

Calling all those with Devil cans

Chris, yes I agree, if the Devil cans Y-piece fits into the OE cat and the Arrow cat elim pipe fits the OE too, then there shouldn't be a problem. Just wanted to hear from anyone who has both fitted before I put in the order. Thanks

Calling all those with Devil cans

Hi there I've got Devil cans fitted like I know some of you have and now I want to fit an Arrow cat elim pipe, but my dealer's saying it can't be done. Any of you out there with Devil cans and an Arrow (or other manufacturer) cat elim pipe who could tell me otherwise? If yes, maybe...

Immense popularity of the FZ6 in Italy

I'm just back from a few days in Madrid and the FZ6 is very popular there too, probably the bike (as opposed to superscoots) I saw most frequently. All but one of them nakeds - in 38C 8/8 blue summer days, I'm not surprised. Not many of them modified in any way - maybe the Madrilenos think...

Is the cost of ownership really as high as I think

I commute most days 90 mile round trip and agree, cost savings vs the car for the trip are marginal, but I save a lot on parking, about £4.50 a day and likely to rise. My office is city centre with no parking provided; there's a free bike park nearby but car parks charge by the hour. Here's...
