Just tested the pipes! About 80 miles mixed highway/city/country roads. They sound fantastic, a deep note and noisier than stock although not too noisy (I left out the additional 'disc' but have the dB killers in). At high speed they can't be heard above the wind noise (no ear plugs...

Success! :cheer: It has taken me all day... Thanks for the advice Jman - I tried that but no matter how I tried to align the pipes I just couldn't get it to work... In the end, I replaced the bolts that hold the clamps with longer ones and 'packed' out with washers to space the pipes...

I've now fitted the pipes 8,247 times and I still can't get it to line up properly! :( I have to say I'm unimpressed by the mounting clamps - they seem too soft and pliable for the job. I'm about to strip the whole thing down again and start over. Good riding weather too!

I did the first 'service' myself too. It was the first time I've skipped the official service on all the 'bikes and cars I've owned... I'm sure it really is just a cash cow if the bike was given its PDI properly...

I think the bike needs to be caned! If I am riding around town or gently outside I find the changes (with clutch) a little clunky. When I am thrashing the bike, clutchless changes (no pre-load as I heard that was bad for the gear box, just roll off the throttle 20% and tip the gear in)...

I've ordered the LeoVince and the Arrow cat eliminator... Part of the deciding factor for me was the heat that the cat produces... I ride in Cyprus where it is quite warm (air intake up to 42ºC) and the heat from the cat is really noticeable - especially when I cane the bike!
