Make sure the forks are aligned properly with the axle. It's possible one or both of them have a slight twist to them.

What year bike is it? Ronayers.com has them for 04-06 UNDER BRACKET COMP. - Search : 5VX-23340-00-00 (same part comes up for 07+ as well) for $130. May be your best bet.
