Wow, what a mess I started! Sorry! Hey from a newbie stand point, just 40lbs is a lot! Bud helping me has years of experience and used to race. He said don't worry about it it's plenty tight, centrifugal force helps hold em on with the lock washers it' not going anywhere. I'm no weakling...

Really? That far gone huh? Well on the short slow ride home, as it was dark and wet, the feel was great! Much smoother and more responsive and other weird feelings in the bike seemed to go away! Money well spent and got to learn a lot too! Like saw a cush drive = never knew that was there!

Time to replace front and rear sprocket and chain. Technical assistance requested please!

32,XXX on an 05 FZ6 and from the dirty abused shape of it all I’d guess that the sprocket/chain setup is still factory parts! Have noticed a pulsing/clunking when holding at a steady RPM on a smooth road. A friend said the rear sprocket is in bad shape. I decided to do a 15 tooth up front...

I bought an 05 FZ6 and the seller gave a bunch of extras, in rough shape in my opinion but still usable if you need em! Front faring and inside pieces, side faring pieces, 2 metal brackets that hold lower fairing, rear muffler plastic, not pictured center stand what i think is for the FZ6 and...

    Cracked Frame...

It cost me $50, might have been a little more but the welder is kinda my bud, so I fell like he did me a favor! "Yamaha should have done a recall" is what a bud of mine said, "they cast too thin and try to make stuff too light weight and it gets thin!" I'm gonna ride it and just keep an eye on it!

What about the bearings under the handle bars? My friends rode my bike and said about the same thing and checked them, greased as they were good and tightened the nuts and it was all better!

    Cracked Frame...

Spoke with the owner of BREW Bikes LLC he said he will not weld it as I planned. He said if welded the aluminum in that area will go back to a temper of T-0 which will crack much faster. I suggested a torch silver solder to keep the heat down. He said that anything over 350 affects the...

    Cracked Frame...

I just bought an 05 FZ6 with 32k and there is a crack in almost the same spot! Owner said he never saw it before, which I find hard to believe! Got the bike a little cheaper though. It's a good idea to drill a small hole at the end of the crack to help deflect/disperse the spread. Gonna do...
