How far south do I need to go?...

Hey all, I've got a couple reasons for this post, 1. I'm Canadian, 2. I miss riding, 3. I have a week off coming up soon, 4. I'm planning a ride to the bottom of Argentina (not on the FZ6) in 2 years leaving Canada in January at some point. So, I was wondering how far south I need to get...

Levers. What do you have and where did you get it?

Holy crap that's a frosty FZ6, are you still riding in weather like that? or is it being stored outside with no cover or something?

    Fairing/Helmet/Dash cams

There's a little adapter you can buy, if I remember it was like $2, this makes it so any go pro mount can work with it

    Fairing/Helmet/Dash cams

Waspcam Gideon, has all the top specs (1080p @60 fps, time lapse maker, looping video function, etc...) has a wrist remote with a lcd so you can aim the camera and start and stop it, I have a friend who works for the company so I got one before they were released for really cheap. I've used...

    Flasher Relay on Project Bike

She's a little bit of both a restoration and custom build.. Hoping to finish it over the Christmas break, my time in the shop is going to be coming to an end soon as my dad wants to get a boat in there

The new 300cc bikes now available.

Are you looking at replacing an FZ6 with a 300 cc? I don't know if I could give up the power I get out of the FZ6, Ive ridden friends smaller bikes and they just didn't do it for me for on the street/touring riding I also really like the idea of a small displacement track bike, I went to a...

    Flasher Relay on Project Bike

Thanks for the reply, Ill have to check that one out. The power pack has enough juice to power everything, It all works perfect when wired up without the flasher relay, and I'm pretty sure everything was wired correctly (I did it from scratch). the 12 volt line has a floating ground on its own...

    Flasher Relay on Project Bike

Okay, so I'm well acquainted with the need for a flasher relay rated for LED's due to their lower power consumption etc. What I've been working on is my custom wiring harness for my project bike, a 1979 Honda CM185, its a 6 volt bike and I wanted to run LED turn signals and brake light, so...

Stock forks with springs and emulators, or R6 forks?

Yes they should fit, I assume you mean your changing to R6 forks, Not a huge difference in length compared to whats on the FZ6 stock, I have handlebar risers and stock FZ6 lines and stainless lines for an FZ6 fit just fine

    Kawasaki's 300-hp, supercharged H2R

That NC750 would sure be interesting to ride, I test rode the one out right now, didnt like it at all. It might have been because I'm used to the FZ6, but I hit the rev limiter every time I shifted, it redlines at like 6500 and never gave me a good fast take off feeling, This of course would...

    FJ-09/ MT-09 TRACER Official

How did the stock seat feel? wider and softer? This is what hinders me from really being comfortable for long distances on the FZ6

Best Way To Prevent Bike From Starting?

Noticing he is from California, I think he likely is able to ride year round for the most part... I would get pretty sick of getting an air compressor out etc. every time I wanted to go for a ride. Not to mention its probably not good for the tires to constantly inflate/deflate them or leave the...

It's been really quiet around here recently.

I lurk everyday but only post when I feel I have something worthwhile to contribute... I guess I should update my project bike thread at some point though, I plan to finish it over christmas this year

Best Way To Prevent Bike From Starting?

You could wire in an ignition disable switch, then hide it somewhere out of sight so only you know where to turn it on, another thought could be installing a switch on the starter button line, then they just think the battery is dead when they turn the ignition on and hit the starter but nothing...

    LED strips

I'd vote for the Hyperlites, Not only super bright and impossible to miss but they have pretty good customer service as well. I bought a set when I first got my bike, the control unit died this summer on me, They sent me a brand new one for free with no questions asked, it was even a better...

    S2 over S1 parts?

Get yourself the S2 front brake calipers, they're an improvement with 4 pistons each. Someone recently upgraded their S1 instrument cluster to an S2 one as well, so its possible if you like the look of the new one better.

My first Yamaha for the winter

It looks to me like someone just painted the frame and related parts, everything points to S1 except the colour (swing arm, passenger foot peg bracket, brakes, etc...)

    Catching cold...

Being chilly cant make you sick, its the heightened amount of time people spend inside near each others coughs and sneezes that increase the rate of sick people with chilly weather. Now that isn't to say having cold air get inside your helmet doesn't suck, I thought my helmet came with a chin...

What is your default lane position and why?

If your talking about a single lane road (ie. one lane of traffic flowing in either direction) then I pick the lane where if I was in the drivers seat of a car I would be on the same side. You can see out around the vehicle in front etc. On a two lane road, I stay on the side where I am closest...

Looking for FZ6 riders in Gatineau area

Wow that would be awful, I can literally go and write a test in 20 minutes and come out legal to ride alone on the road (not that I did, took a course and whatnot). I couldn't imagine having to wait 11 months to get out on my own though
