Went down this morning in the rain

Well if you want the bike back to new then it sounds like you don't want to go the buy back route.

Went down this morning in the rain

You need to crunch the numbers and decide how much of a hassle you want to deal with. To help with this, can you list what needs to be repaired? Any chance you know the buy back amount?

Went down this morning in the rain

Thanks for posting that video. Definitely some slick conditions especially on the paint. were not far from home, were you? I would probably go the no insurance route but that's just me. A scratched frame plus totalled is not a bad deal either. hmmm...

Went down this morning in the rain

Tip overs at lights don't count! I did that on my father in law's bike once when I was just learning...oops!

Went down this morning in the rain

Pretty safe to assume he has had other bikes during the three year period. Didnt know you had ever gone down in slippery conditions. Sounds like you are comfortable with your average?

Went down this morning in the rain

3 times in 3 years is cause for concern. You were in traffic when this happened? Be sure to post this and the video in the crash analysis forum in BARF...lots if experienced people to learn from. The names of the parts you need can be determined by taking a few minutes to review the online...

    Anyone ridden a YZFR-6? R? 2007 or up?

Yes I rode my friend's 2008 a few weeks ago. I was extremely cramped and did not feel comfortable pushing the bike because I felt like I was perched on top of it and could only move my ankles and fingers. This is likely because I'm 6'3", he had the rearsets in the most extreme position, and he...

Well I'm originally from Barre, but don't live there any more. Any chance you went to Quabbin Regional?

    Goodbye KTM hello KLR

Nice! Must have been hard to walk away from an LC4 though. A friend that I taught to ride last year just picked up his first bike...a 2002 with with 5400 miles for $1800...says it is clean as a whistle. Great value to be had with these bikes.

What does a leaking fork seal indicate?

Kenny, amuse us and tell us what fork maintenance you have done over the life of the bike. How about your shock? Good luck, in my experience anything other than new oild or springs/spacers requires know-how and special tools.

Thinking about selling and parting out Ohlins, Givi, rizome rearsets, R6 forks/brakes, etc., etc.

If you are interested in one or more items, send me a PM with details so that I can provide you with my PayPal address. Nothing is sold until it is sold (i.e., we discuss terms and $ is sent)! I want to be as helpful as possible but I've been around long enough to know that things can...

Thinking about selling and parting out Ohlins, Givi, rizome rearsets, R6 forks/brakes, etc., etc.

I've posted everything except the killernoodle mods (need someone's stock bits) and the uncaged sliders (need the frame bolts from someone). Her is what remains (FOR SALE ads for everything are in the classified section): - killernoodle mods - rizoma rearsets - throttle tube - all balls...

KONY 2012 - What do you think?

I don't claim to know much about the region but I watches the video a couple days ago and also read this (it's critical of the video/movement to some extent): http://visiblechildren.tumblr.com/post/18890947431/we-got-trouble...

    Panic Stop Practice Methods?

Agreed, which brings up back to why we should practice in the first place. I've skidded my front most often when loaded down with camping gear and practicing braking.
