    V-strom envy....

Softbags with drybags. Check out giantloop or dirtbagz for some ideas. Also kryga and rolliebag system. Get on advrider and do some lurking. Lots of fun in your future! Just bought a 4.7+ gallon tank for my wr250r and should now be good for close to 300 mile range!!! Talk about an adv bike...

    Front brake caliper re-build

3 rotations is pretty good. I wouldn't replace to seals in order to try to get more than 3 rotations. You may consider simply rebuilding them without replacing the seals though. It is pretty easy to do and you can polish the pistons while they are out, flush the calipers, inspect the seals...

    V-strom envy....

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Hard panniers are nothing but a heavy/expensive luxury that hinder a bike's outright performance. If you get a 2012 strom and load it up with hard luggage you are not goinig to do much other than fire roads, even with fully knobby tires. You can put...

Modify Sidestand for Best Cornering Clearance

I always removed mine for the track because is decked out like crazy and never had an issue on the street with proper suspension set up. I can't help you with modifying the sidestand but just want to mention that you should consider maknig sure your suspension is not squatting too much and that...

    Bought another Yamaha!

Looks like a beast with the Knobbies and looks like a liability with the 17s. Definitely very flickable...like a toy...extremely forgiving, which is what I was going for. I only have 2 bikes. This and the Aprilia Tuono. Changed bikes a lot this year, including selling the FZ after 7 years...

    Killed Battery, Unable to bump-start

FWIW, I have bumpstarted a completely dead battery (FZ6) more than once before. I mean completely dead...clock not even showing up on the dash...nothing. My technique was sheer determination and lots of sweat. Just posting this so that people know if can be done if they are ever in a pinch.

Rev Limiter on your bike (Fz6's only please)

Pretty sure it is 14.5 from the factory (or is it 14 flat?)...if that is what you are asking. I didn't google it to confirm though...

Portland Oregon: What do I need to see?

Microbrews per my best friend...that has lived in Portland for 3 years and is a bit of a lush: Hair of the Dog, deuchutes, double mountain, and another nod for full sail He rides an SV650...don't hold it against him. Oh yeah, his name is David and he is french...go figure.
