    Difference in model years?

Banjoyboy...I recognize you from BARF. You currently have an FJR or ST, right? I prefer the newer ones but if you saw a smokin deal on a pre 2007 or a pre 2007 with all the right mods then you can't go wrong there either. Let me know if you want to meet up to give my 2004 a try.

    wont rev past 8k

I'm not a professional mechanic by trade but I highly recommend asking the previous owner one question: WTF?

Does anyone have info on adjusting valves ?

I think you are getting ahead of yourself. Have you done a TB synch? FWIW, the valve CHECK interval is 40,000 km...no mandatory adjustment. If your valves need adjusting at 13,000 then something else is probably going wrong as well...

    speeding remedy?

Only use 1st and 2nd gear...the high revs will make you feel like you're going fast.

Top Case or Two larger Sidecases???

Top Case: + Slimmer bike = better for lane splitting and otherwise fitting in tight spaces...perhaps also better aerodynamics + Back rest for passenger (this is HUGE for some people) + Only need one hand to carry it as you walk away + Option for integrating large rear brake light...

What do you all do for a living?....

I help very smart people buy and sell businesses for millions and sometimes billions of dollars. I'm an "M&A" tax consultant. Long intense hours with lots at stake. Me and my colleagues are constantly trying to get things done correctly but in as little time as possible while managing risk...and...

    Increasing FZ6 Top Speed

+1 on changing your gearing slighly. A turbo or super charger would probably get you there. Please post the research. Everyone that I have seen post the math calculated high 160s actual at redline w/ stock everything, that is worlds apart from 155. I'm guessing the two times you did it...

    Increasing FZ6 Top Speed

thought this had been resolved. Redline in 6th with stock gearing is like 170 mph and simply not possible on the stock FZ6. Perhaps you should count the teeth on your sprockets.

US biker sues Harley in ABS light case

I don't understand your comment about Californians. Can you expand on that? I would assume the guy knows he is at fault but is just looking to pass the buck to someone else...kinda like when you took a discount you didn't deserve, just on a much larger scale.

    Throttle Tamer: Not bad.

I received mine tonight an installed it. The installation required power tools. I have the stock handlebar and stock bar end weights and found that the tube was about 1.5 mm too long as the bar end weight was binding on the tube when torqued down. [not sure how they got this wrong] Given the...

    Throttle Tamer: Not bad.

I think I'm going to ignore this advice.... Mine is set at 1600 and shifting is smoother, if different at all. The engine is never spinning at idle speed when I downshift regardless of what I have the idle set at. I'm not a mechanic but I would think the only "major" downside would be...

    Throttle Tamer: Not bad.

You sure about that? the one I bought 12 hours ago was $80, less a 20% discount (calculated at checkout), plus zero tax, plus zero shipping = $64 shipped.

    Throttle Tamer: Not bad.

Yes I was talking about fuel economy...because range matters to me. For $64 I went ahead and bought one....
