Cali cops must be really laid back

The rider on the yellow R6 left skid marks (in his boxers) at 47sec!

    Thank you MSF

I took and passed the MSF BRC Sept 09' and have been practicing what they preach ever since. 35K miles with very few "close calls". Today on my way home from work, a 30mi route through WV mountain road. I had a "close call" with 4 deer. While riding I do SEE constantly! To the point that I...

I cant work out how to fit the tail light

It's a huge PITA 1st time you take it apart!!! I'm assuming you already have grab bar off and are only stumped with the "take the tail light out" part. Hold the grab bar against your chest and pull apart on both handles it'll spread just enough to get the light out.

    No more riding dirty!

Like Lynyrd Skynyrd said, Tuesday's Gone. How'd the BRC go?

Anyone know how-to remove the headlight reflector unit?

Take the whole assembly off the bike and pop it in a 200F preheated oven for 6min it'll soften the sealant just enough to separate the lens from the housing.

You just can't turn them loose on their own!!!

Grow up? Do you think any of us would be on 2's if we were ready to "grow up"? Besides this getting older $#!+ is for the birds!! Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

Possible to replace the headlight "glass"

Safe, yes. 200/94 isn't nearly got enough to melt the plastic in that short of time. For that matter when it comes out you don't NEED gloves (pot holders) to handle it. For comfort sake, however, I did use them, and recommend you do to. As I read you question I interpreted it as... 1) Your FZ6...

Possible to replace the headlight "glass"

Pop it in the oven for 6min at 200F/94C and the sealant will soften enough to pull the "glass" right off. It's "step 1" when doing a projector retrofit

    Do you follow other riders?

I'll follow long enough to get a feel for how they're riding. If it seems to be responsibly spirited I'll follow longer and likely will exchange contact info. If they are 100+ in straights and creep around corners, I'll break off on my own again. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

Disclaimer..."I am not a Yamaha mechanic and this repair might cause your MC to burst into a terrific ball of fire killing you and all those you love, I take no responsibility for said outcome. This is just photo documentation of a repair a "Good-Ole' boy" from WV made to his personal...

    Well.....it finally happened....

It's weird how we (as a group not lone and I exclusively) can come to care about people we have never and likely will never meet as if they are family. When I read the thread title my eyes widened my breath became shallow as I assumed the worst. Then the relief that came as I scrolled down to...

    Another Homemade Saddlebag Support

The flat spots that are visible from looking straight on from behind would be a good place for some red reflective tape. The best part of a DIY project is telling others that say they woulda done it different "we'll you can when you do yours" IY is the best way to do it LOL
