I think I may have seen a video you posted on reddit. There's a good chance the ignition switch is not compatible and or the is damaged or improper rewiring of the bike.
How the bike is designed is related to safety protocol that may have been bypassed for some reason.

Your in the US, so no immobilizer..

Instead of possibly destroying/damaging something else in the wiring
just replace the entire switch with an OEM switch. No re-wire splicing, do it correctly..

Note; I recently replaced my ignition witch as the key wouldn't always turn (just worn out).

You do have to get under the battery (to get to the plug) and remove the triple clamp,
BUT, that is the correct way to proceed (IMO)..

All other locks (seat, fuel tank, helmet lock if equipped), can be re-keyed to fit the new switch.

Make sure when you get the proper ignition switch that you disconnect the negative battery lead when your working with the wiring. There is a module called the "Starter interrupt- cut off relay" It's comprised of 2 relays and a diode matrix to create a safety protocol the monitors the neutral safety, clutch lever, side stand to protect from mishaps. We've seen a few of these get damaged from mishandled ignition switch wiring and the diodes in the module become damaged so the the bike won't start/run.
The module is about $35. Get your proper ignition switched wired up and then see what happens. If it doesn't start come back here so we can help you trouble shoot.
