My current bike is a FZ1. I really want a bike with ABS, and I would like to stick with Yamaha. If I had the choice it would be the half-faired Fazer 8 but they don't offer it in the U.S.. I would settle for ABS on another FZ1 or even and FZ6, but Yamaha doesn't offer ABS on any of those models...
It would be interesting to know where each of the above tires are made. My Pirelli Angel ST says on the sidewall they are made in Germany. Would be nice to find out where the rest are made.
If you have the RoadSmart or ContiMotion tires on your bike, I would very much appreciate it if you could check the sidewalls to see where they are made, and reply to this post.

My 2005 FZ1 also has some noise that seems to be coming from the general area of the instrument panel. It starts at about 40 mph and stops above 45 mph. I thought if someone fixed it on the FZ6, the same fix might apply to the FZ1.
Yamaha made some FI changes I think in 2007 or 2008 to eliminate surging. Can 2006 models be updated? Is it just a matter of having the dealer re-map the FI?

I don’t want to know how fast you can go. That is easy to look up.
What I want to know is how "slow" can you go in 6th gear, 5th gear, and 4th gear, and then accelerate without down shifting, lugging or bucking?
I have been considering the purchase of an FZ6 this spring, but a little concerned about fuel economy. The Yamaha website list the FZ6 at 40 MPG according to EPA test. That does not sound too good to me for a 600 cc bike. I was wondering what it does in the real world. I would appreciate it very...
