This seems like a bike that most FZ6 owners would appreciate.

Glad you are enjoying it. Enjoy the Ozarks!

This seems like a bike that most FZ6 owners would appreciate.

Well, just bid farewell to my 2009 FZ6 for one of these. I was in the process of making changes to the FZ (i.e adding bags and a straighter bar) to start doing some solo touring when I heard about this bike. If I had room in my garage for 4 bikes I would've considered keeping the FZ, but I...

Quick Release Saddle Bag (throw over) Supports

Cool clamp, looks like just the ticket for first gen bikes....any links on where to buy?

Quick Release Saddle Bag (throw over) Supports

Happy to inspire! To the FZ out for a spin with the bags loaded up and they work great.

    BUYING AN FZ6 w/ Questions

Of the two revisions I would definitely go with the latter (07-09). I had an '05 and know own an '09 and aside from the aesthetics, it just seems to be a more refined ride than the earlier version. I also prefer the newer plastics and gauge cluster. Some of the improvements to the US version...

Quick Release Saddle Bag (throw over) Supports

Yes, that was the first thing I looked at. I the end I chose the current mounting point because I never carry a passenger (that's what my Victory is for :D:D ). In that instance, though, you would likely need more of an S shaped bend, but no big deal. Painted and trimmed:

Quick Release Saddle Bag (throw over) Supports

All of this would be available at a good hardware store. You could, conceivably, bolt the pieces together. Two bolts at the rear of the tubing through the plate would be sufficient, you would just shorten the amount of support tubing that goes into the mount. Again, this was made with scrap...

Quick Release Saddle Bag (throw over) Supports

Posted this in a thread looking for alternatives to the SW Motech Blaze system. Thought it would be appropriate here too. Here's my concept (this design requires removal of rear peg brackets, but could be adapted with spacers): Bought a pair of Sedici Saddle Bags from Cycle Gear...

Lowsided, suggestions on fixing it up?

Although it's too late in your case Go here: Ronayers.com Ron Ayers Motorsports whenever you want to buy OEM parts. My lowside was much worse than yours and I picked up everything but the headlight (ebay) from them to repair my old '05 FZ a few years ago. Considerably cheaper than what the...

Has anyone made a knockoff version of SW-Motech bags yet?

Here's my concept (this design requires removal of rear peg brackets, but could be adapted with spacers): Bought a pair of Sedici Saddle Bags from Cycle Gear ($99). These bags are a good candidate because they have some small D-Rings that the support tube can run thru. Used some scrap...

    Coming to America!

If you make it down to Texas you have to ride the Three Sisters. Here's some info. Stay in Fredericksburg and head up FM965 to Enchanted Rock. This is all Texas Hill Country. Probably the best that Texas has to offer.

Twisted Throttle is having a sale on some FZ6 stuff

Nope, you're not! I'd love to have a TCP Seat Cowl, but those prices are ridiculous. But, then again, throw "motorcycle" in front of any product and you can add a 50% markup or more (GPS's are a great example). :(

    Frame slider of choice?

T-Rex frame sliders for me!! Here I am this past Saturday on the Dragon (shot courtesy of US129 photos) having a blast!! On my third run...not so fun: Slider did it's job. Only damage to the bike was a scuffed mirror and what they call the mole piece (flat black "eyelid" piece...

    2006 vs. 2007-2009 FZ6

The chart on Wikipedia is a little misleading. US versions of the FZ6 have retained the same HP (97HP at the crank) throughout it's run here. The other number are for the Euro version of the bikes. Having owned an 2005 FZ6 and now a 2009 FZ6, it's a no brainer for me, 2007+ all the way...
