86 Fz 600 with fuel in the oil

A bad float could also do this so check them as well to see if any are allowing fuel to leak inside them. I would definitely change the oil if it has taken on that much fuel in the crankcase.

    Ny jets did what????

The game was tough to watch, I was not expecting a blowout like most were predicting, but I did think the Pats would win. Jets did a good job slowing down the O and Brady was sacked a ton. The Pats defense did pretty good all things considered except for the end when they gave up the quick...

    Protective Gear In Action

nice production. I assume the guy is a paid stuntman...watch any action movie with a chase scene there is always a guy getting wiped out on a bike. My guess is that he had some additional gear underneath (ie kevlar tights, knee/elbow pads, back protector, etc.) as I agree the odds are low...

    1986 FZ600 issues

There is no shame in taking it to the pros! On the older bikes a complete dip/ultrasonic clean is sometimes needed to get all the minute gum and buildup out. A shop with AFR probes and a dyno can usually make quick work of the setup. Good point about the rust too. Lets see a pic of the old beast!

    1986 FZ600 issues

You will probably have to go to a dealer for the carb small parts. Or you can try bikebandit, they may be able to get what you need, here is a link: 1986 Yamaha FZ600S Parts, 1986 Yamaha FZ600S OEM Parts - BikeBandit.com

Super Ténéré available for viewing Jan 13-15

I chalk it up more to lack of affordable models vs. lack of interest, most ADV bikes are pricey as BMW is really the only brand that is commonly available. So, I am gald to see Yamaha entering the segment. However, I wish Yamaha would offer the smaller tenere as well for a lower price point...

    saveabattery...save your money

I think the $$ is paying for the integrated enclosure and mechanical bits...doesn't seem to be much in the way of electronics in this unit...I think getting a refund was the right decision

    Green Bay Packers

That was a wild one for sure. I didn't think Brady was too bad, although there were a few stinker drives for sure. GB played very well!

Got myself & the Missus new Shoei XR(RF)1100 Helmets!

Great thread! I want to get a new helemt in the spring, and the 1100 is the one I'm targeting. The one and only helmet I've ever owned is the RF800 (bought new in 1998) which has held up great (and been very lucky for me!) but due to wear on the liner and chin straps, I think is ready...

    2011 Honda Crossrunner

I like the crosstourer but not the crossrunner. Although I do like some elements of the concept (6+ inches of travel, wide bars, unique engine). That muffer is really ugly, but they seem to be more and more common these days.

    Any DSLR users out there?

I'm a big fan of Pentax, I think the build quality is great on their cameras. I have the Pentax K200D with 18-55 and 50-200 lenses and several older k-mount film lenses, really a nice camera and I've only scratched the surface on what it can do. I usually try to shoot in aperature...
