The V-Strom gets about 250 to 300 miles on a tank depending on the roads and how hard you are riding. Down at Deals Gap last year I got alot less for obvious reasons, but mellow highway rides give me high 200's easily.

New guy here. Currently riding a V-Strom, owned a Hayabusa and a GSXR1100 in the past. Lotsa dirt bikes too. Getting an FZ6 for those sporty rides I want, but keeping the V-Strom for my Alaska trip and looooong rides. Looking forward to it !!

Is there any difference besides color? I am going to get one, and I have been looking around and found both model years available. Color wise, I like the 2007 factory Yamaha blue, and the 2008 all black looks cool too. I would like to know if there are any techincal differences though, even...
