    RG Discontinued FZ6 Swingarm Protector

Thanks - it's good to know it was a reliability issue. BTW my FZ6 is 2007 and when listing all R&G products on their web site, the swingarm protector doesn't show up. On the other hand, for FZ6 2004-2006 it's still there... hmm :)

    RG Discontinued FZ6 Swingarm Protector

Hey, Do you know what's the reason for RG Racing (Welcome to R&G Racing | Setting the standard in bolt-on motorcycle accessories and Crash Protectors) to discontinue the FZ6 Swingarm protector (the part number used to be SS0012BK)? I got one several months ago and it got stolen and now I see...

    Inline 4 (FZ6) compared to 4 Stroke (FZ6R)

These are two different categories of engine specs so you can't really compare them to each other. "Inline four" means you've got four cylinders in a line (i.e. one next to the other) whereas four stroke means one combustion cycle consists of four piston strokes. The 4 strokes are: 1) the...

    Silencers external temperature

I emailed Scorpion and they replied they are sending me a new set of badges to replace the problematic ones. I also found this - J-B Weld - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - which I thought I'd try if I experience the issue again. But reading TownsendsFJR1300's post I may first try with 3M...

    Silencers external temperature

Hi guys, Any ideas what's the min/max external temperature of an FZ6's silencer? I've got stainless Scorpion exhausts and one of the badges that are glued on them has started to slightly come out. I'd like to glue it back but don't know what's the temp the glue has to cope with. Thanks :)

    Scorpion Install

I installed my new set of oval stainless Scorpions and I'm very happy :)! Just wanted to let you know that indeed there are some minor leaks from the Y joint if you don't use any sealant. Maybe the exhaust sealant a friend gave me was a bit old or something but it couldn't eliminate the issues...

Who has RIZOMA grips and bar ends??

I just got what I needed from this thread - http://www.600riders.com/forum/fz6-mods/16945-new-rizoma-sportline-grips.html. It's clear that stock bar weights have larger diameter than Rizoma's. Thanks :)

Who has RIZOMA grips and bar ends??

Can anyone send me the diameter of the conical rizoma bar ends at the larger side (i.e. the one nearest to the handlebar)? I'd like to compare it to stock so that I get an idea how these bar ends will look like with stock grips. Thank you :)

Who has RIZOMA grips and bar ends??

Have you tried conical Rizoma bar ends with *stock* grips? I'd like to order a pair but don't know if it'll fit :)

Racing brake pads could be dangerous?

Anyone knows the technical reason for racing brake pads being dangerous when riding in town? I've been told so about Carbone Lorraine racing pads by a local dealer but he could not explain why this is so. Thanks :)

Theory behind the need of PCIII for race exhausts

Now that's what I was looking for :)! Thanks to all of you for the valuable info!

Theory behind the need of PCIII for race exhausts

Hmm, it's good to know that 'stock' is not really that stock :). I'm actually interested in the physical/chemical/whatever processes that cause the combustion process to change when *ONLY* the exhaust is replaced/removed. So far I understood we get faster gas evacuation... is there anything...

Theory behind the need of PCIII for race exhausts

I see :). And what's the reason - is it again only the lower pressure and faster gas evacuation?

Theory behind the need of PCIII for race exhausts

MRGM, thanks a lot for the info! What about the case when I only change the exhaust with a more open one but I don't touch the original air filter and I don't put a PCIII? There should only be faster evacuation of gases but would that affect the a/f mixture?

Theory behind the need of PCIII for race exhausts

Hi, I know that if you put on race/aftermarket exhausts you eventually need a fuel remap/PCIII in order to get the appropriate fuel/air mixture in the engine. Do you know why this is so? Using a sporty air filter like K&N makes more sense because more air enters the combustion chambers but what...
