If I remember correctly, I installed 2" ROX Pivot Risers. They are 2" in total length, but you can rotate them to your liking for any combination of rise and pull back. So I guess the amount of slack necessary is dependent on how the lines are routed. Maybe I do need to order extra length...
Hey all. I have a question about Galfer steel brake line length for the front. According to pashnit.com's parts list, the parts for a 2007 are:
FZ6 2007-08 FK003D585-2(front), FK003D585R (rear).
I have ROX adjustable handlebar risers on my FZ6 that gives me some rise and pullback and...
Thanks for the info. The bike is currently in storage at the moment (i.e., under a cover, outside in the apartment parking lot), and the temperatures outside are getting colder with the snow falling. I'll check it if there's a warm day or next spring.
What I don't remember explicitly is whether or not both filaments were on from the original bulb. I seem to think that they weren't. This is why I think both filaments being on is a "feature" of the Xtravision bulb. The manufacturer does claim X% improvement in brightness and distance, but...
Thanks for the clarification! That helps me personally, because I haven't read up on the bd43 or Motogiro headlight mods and my bike has stock wiring (as evidenced by the right side light only turns on when the high beam switch is on).
I do have a question about the low beam and high beam...
This maybe obvious... but let all the air out of the tires? Nobody is going to ride your bike away if the tires are flat. And if they really want to steal your bike, they'd just lift it and put it in the back of a truck anyway. Chains, disc locks, etc. won't help with that regardless.
I have those exact same ones. I bought some fork brackets from Twisted Throttle to go along with them. Mine are mounted to the fork using the stock Philips head screw/bolt that attaches the front fender to the fork.
You can see them taped up in this picture here from my first track day...
All I have to say... what an awesome bike. I just bought one this spring (same year, same mileage) and mounted some DS tires to learn some trail riding. They are a hoot to ride, both on and off road. Good luck with the sale!
I'm grandfathered in on my Unlimited Data plan with AT&T as well on my iPhone, and you would think that logically since I already have unlimited data, tethering shouldn't cost anymore! There are times I really wish I could tether because sometimes LTE at my house works better than my TWC internet.
Thanks for the info. I actually made my own seal mate out of an old milk jug and was able to pry up the dust seal and clean out the oil seal. There wasn't any obvious grit. After pumping the forks a bunch of times it appears the leak is gone, but I haven't had the opportunity to ride today to...
Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but I have the same question. My 2007 FZ6 has just over 30k miles and I noticed yesterday that my right fork is leaking oil. Because I don't have a garage, the bike is parked outside year round (under a cover in the winter, I live in upstate NY). The dust...
I do as well, though I don't have pics of them. I went with Denali Micros from TwistedThrottle.com. They are small, but brighter than the stock headlights. Wiring is very simple and everything is built in top notch quality. Twisted Throttle has many models to fit your needs and even has bike...
All valid points. I just find the bike handles much better at that higher pressure. The bike goes exactly where I point it more predictably and the turn in is very precise, as if it were on rails. At lower pressures it feels less planted to me. And I don't really notice any difference in...
My understanding is that the recommended pressures in the manual are for the OEM tires. I run PR3s around 40/40. This gives me the best handling, in my opinion. And I'm a small/light guy. 5'6", 130lbs without gear.
