Michelin Pilot Road 3 are here!!!!!!

Fair enough. Easy there counselor, you're assuming facts not in evidence. He claims that he had them professionally installed, his word does not make it a fact. He claims to, which does not a fact make. :) He claims to, which does not a fact make. :) Just sayin'. :)

    ABS brake conversion

I ended up sticking with a Suzuki SV650 (non-ABS) instead of going out and buying an FZ6. I couldn't find any SV650's with ABS and Suzuki isn't shipping any 2010 models until late in the year. I found plenty of FZ6's, but the SV650 in non-ABS trim is plentiful too (so are mods and parts) and...

    ABS brake conversion

Nope, you could look at ABS-equipped BMW's, the Suzuki Bandit 1250ABS, SV650ABS or a Honda VFR 800 ABS to start though. I actually ended up not getting an FZ6 primarily for that reason. Wish they had the ABS models over here.

Challenged the law. Got $113 ticket for my trouble.

LMAO. I would probably agree with you on a lot of those zones...but then again, I don['t have a badge so that and a bag of chips will raise your cholesterol. ;)

Challenged the law. Got $113 ticket for my trouble.

Sure, technology has improved, but the human mind hasn't. Reaction time is still reaction time, we don't get automatic upgrades there (and since everyone is different, you have to sadly legislate based on the lowest common denominator). The average person can only react so fast to an animal that...

Challenged the law. Got $113 ticket for my trouble.

Then perhaps you should: A. Learn to not drive-ride like a person that wants $900 in fines per year. B. Stop getting caught riding-driving like a person that wants $900 in fines per year. C. Move to someplace where there aren't any of those stupid, useless laws that shouldn't even pertain...

Post withdrawn. Bad manners on my part.

    Only in America...

Translation: I don't care what every peer-reviewed study done to date says, I'm gonna put my fingers in my ears and lash out at others who see the data for what it is. I didn't pull anything out of my butt, sir, it's all government/law enforcement data (objective numbers) or peer-reviewed...

    Only in America...

Damn man. :( I guess that's game. Set. Oh wait, fail. Definitions for WISQARS Fatal - NCIPC CDC data does not identify justifiable homicide, and that's where the 31,000 number on wikipedia came from (it's actually 30,694). The numbers from the relevant reports still stand (all of which dwarf...

    Only in America...

I'm not so sure you want to go there, those numbers would merely show that there are more accidents and injuries per motorcycle owned than DGU/homicide/suicide/assault per gun owned, making your choice to ride a motorcycle but not own a gun seem completely irrational. ;) Either way, the numbers...

    Only in America...

That's an exceptionally thoughtful post. I know some shooters form Norway, there's a lot of guns on your continent due to the huge number of hunters and sport shooters (though my impression is that sport shooting is on the decline somewhat due to tougher regulations with the gun laws passed in...

    Only in America...

In statistics, that's what we call both anecdotal evidence and a biased sample. You're relatively young and live in California, a notoriously non-gun-friendly state where the carrying of arms is all but non-existent in private hands of the masses. You only know those you know, and your data is...

    Only in America...

In a rough sense, I believe so. Studying the CDC data in both fatal and non-fatal motorcycle injuries from 2000-2007 (the most recent and largest time period where we have data for both), we see an annual average of a little over 281,000 injuries (4,300 fatal, 277,000 non-fatal). Every...
