What would you "upgrade" your FZ6 to?

After a year with my 07 FZ6 which was a great bike i changed it for a new Honda CB1000R. Must admit i miss the FZ6 as it was totally reliable with no problems at all unlike the Honda. Have had continuing problems with this bike. Faulty spark plug and tyre fixed under warranty. Bad fueling...

Bike feel after break in period.

Had my first proper day out on the bike yesterday now the sun is back on and a bit warmer. Was fantastic, the vibes didn't seem to bad after riding around for a couple of hours. Seemed to be ok. Managing to get the revs up now and then to around 10k in the lower gears to get the motor fully...

    Front forks diving under braking

My bike is almost brand new 07 model out the crate 2010. Only done just over 1000kms. So not at all worn, check my new thread on break in feel. As stated i had an FZ8-N as loan bike when mine was in for service. It doesnt have adjustable forks either and costs almost twice as much. What is it...

Bike feel after break in period.

I just had my first break in service done at dealers and wondered if i can now expect the engine to run more smoothly as the miles go up. I noticed a fair amount of vibes through the seat at exactly 5000 rpm in 6th gear on highway. Which made me have to go faster to get rid of it. I had an FZ8...

    Front forks diving under braking

I got a 07 FZ6-S2 and am experiencing a tendancy for the forks to dive a lot under braking especially when stopping. Seems like the front end wants to eat the tarmac. I'm not braking excessivly hard or anything and had a kawa before with adjustable front forks which seemed fine. As this bike has...

    FZ1 Handlebar mod

Got the FZ8 handlebars fitted at last. Not too difficult, hardest part was getting the throttle side switch cluster peg hole marked and drilled. Not totally necessary but feels better knowing it wont slip around at all. the hole for the clutch side matched ok. The bar ends for the FZ6 don't fit...

    FZ1 Handlebar mod

I've been looking into this mod also so went into the Yam dealer to check on the bars for the FZ8. They had a demo model in the shop so i could get a feel for the bar position. Felt much better, not twisting your wrists and elbows inward like the standard FZ6's. Seem to be about the same width...

Is the FZ6 the best bike you have owned, ridden???

My last bike was a Kawasaki GPZ750 A2. It was a cracking bike in every respect from what i can remember. After 22 years and lots of cars later i decided it was time to get back on 2 wheels, and the FZ6-S2 was my choice. The Kawa 750 and FZ6 are pretty close in regards to power output and size...

    Change up to FZ1

Well i spent some time today and visited a nearby MC dealer who had a 06 FZ1 in stock. Just went to get a feel for it. My first thought was cripes what a hard seat and especially with that angle to it which was more like sitting on a block of wood !! Sitting position felt good especially those...

    Change up to FZ1

From what i've read the injection systems were updated for the 2007 > on models with better throttle response and smoother power delivery. I still feel my FZ6 is a bit snatchy at low rpm's compared with my previous carburetor Bikes. This was my first fuel injection bike. Havent noticed...

    Change up to FZ1

Thinking of changing my 07 FZ6-S2 for a 2007/8 FZ1-S Interested to hear from anyone who has ridden both and if they think the difference in power, size etc is worth it. I like the bigger physical dimensions of the FZ1 and the lower exhaust system. I only use it for pleasure riding in my spare...

    Highway speed wind buffeting

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'm really looking forward to getting the machine broken in so i can get a real feel for what it can do. Bad stock tyres permitting of coarse. As for the buffeting it feels quite cramped on the bike to be able to duck down behind the screen too much, the distance...

    Highway speed wind buffeting

Yeah the Puig screen still retains the bikes good looks,so maybe thats the best option. What you find is wrong with the stock tyres. I find it pretty twitchy especially at the front, hard to say though if it's the uneven road surfaces or the tyres, need to find a newly surfaced road to compare.

    Highway speed wind buffeting

Thanks Erci , glad to hear it is a known issue. I got the exact same color bike as you and i think it looks awesome, Dont really want to be totally wind protected with large ugly screens as the standard one is neat, but i like to go fast on highways and after it's run in it should be able to get...

    Highway speed wind buffeting

As a new member and owner of a new 2007 model FZ6 S2 i like to share my riding experience after about 500kms on the clock since new. First i cannot believe how much wind buffeting there is at around 120kph on the highway even worse if stuck behind a car or truck to the point i really had to...
