    FZ6 out, R1 in...

An update: I am having trouble cornering the R1 with the sam e confidence as me FZ6. I have watched the Bike Cornering Bible videos, and that helped tons. However, I still can't feel the edge. I can get the same corner speeds on a test corner near my house as with the FZ, but I can't help...

    Leo vince & K&n?

I doubt that you will need a retune or PCIII. I had the Leo's and a DNA filter. The Leo's have a greater overall effect than the filter. So if you are ok now, the filter will have little or no effect. What I can suggest, is the CO adjust. For any exhaust mod the CO adjust is a great idea. A...

    Shocked,stunned & a little bruised

Glad your ok. Sort of the same thing happened to me today, not a speed bump but cement on the road surface. Also slid a bit. Bike is kinda screwed. Get yourself right for some serious -$. Insurance will help though. Here's the thread of my fall this morning... Crashed - cement in road ...

    FZ6 out, R1 in...

All the comments are true. So far the R1 has not had the reputation of reliability that Yamaha seems to have. 1) When cold, it does not want to start. Spoke to a Yam mech and he said to keep the button in, for 0.5sec after the engine has started to spin. Ok, so that works... 2) When I got it...

    FZ6 out, R1 in...

I almost cried, no jokes. The FZ6 is in some areas much better than the R1 I just bought. I am obviously super happy with the R1, but riding it reinforced one thing in my head: The FZ6 is one of the great bikes of its time, and does everything any man may need... Hope you go into the world...

    Shark S900 Prime Black

I only recently bought it so I can't attest to how well it copes with wear. However, my older S800 is still as good as new. Shark S900: [9/10] + Very good value for money, seeing that I can't justify the higher cost of the upper Shark models, as they look and feel very similar. +...

Hard choice to make...need some input

I agree with not selling the bike. When selling or buying cars/bikes or other similar assets, you always lose as these lose value very quickly. Another thing is that riding the bike instead of the car will save fuel costs. For me the major thing is that I need a car for rainy days, taking...

    Not your regular slip-ons :D

It would be interesting to hear the sound. Those cans are designed for a 2 cylinder bike so the sound waves will be very unique if they are plonked onto a 4 cylinder bike. You might lose some power though. Be that as it may, I think that those will look the beez neez! Almost better looking...

Front tire, odd wear [Pilot Road II]

Thanks yamahaboyz, think I will be replacing some fork oil then. On the cupping thing, I have had numerous instances where I braked really hard from high speed. I mean flat out from about 200km/h+, so that must have shortened tire life significantly. I think a tire without the center tread will...

Vid From a Recent Track Day (Infineon Raceway) - FZ6

Excellent! Heading should have read: "It's how you ride, not what you ride" Good work on catching all the apexes and on passing bigger bikes! P.S. Is that a WR450 on slicks passing everybody!

Front tire, odd wear [Pilot Road II]

May the rebound also be shot due to old fork oil? I am not 100% sure on the service intervals but I have never in 3years replaced the oil in the forks. Anyway, I will check if a weight has fallen off that might be the culprit.

Front tire, odd wear [Pilot Road II]

I believe that is the reason yes. Damn, I should have known cos the front is always the most at risk of under inflation. Anyway, I wanted to explain exactly what I mean by "bumps" so I made this pretty Paint pic. (15 minutes later) The areas highlighted in red are the areas that are bumps...

Front tire, odd wear [Pilot Road II]

Heya! Michelin Pilot Road II's are excellent. :ban: (Got that over with) I've had the front Pilot II on now for what seems like 25,000km's which is exceptional. However, a while back I started noticing that there is severe vibration from the front at over 170km/h (on a track not the road...
