    Cooling Fan runs constantly

Just to let people know that i've now sorted this problem. The wiring to the sensor was really badly kinked and was shorting out inside the sleeving, after repairing this, re-routing it and cleaning the plug on the end with contact cleaner, it now works fine. Thanks to those who offered...

    Cooling Fan runs constantly

No luck with this as yet, tried swapping the relay with the headlight relay (it's the same type) to no avail. Any more suggestions?

Buffalo clothing anyone else use it?

This is not an ad for Buffalo clothing but, I have to say i'm amazed at how affordable their stuff is. I bought a pair of basic leather gloves about 3 years ago, used every day, they still aint worn out, same goes for a pair of Blitz boots ( made by Buffalo )I've recently started using a...

    Review your helmet.

Re: Bone Dome I've used a Nitro NTV1000 Airtech for about a year now. It fits well but is REALLY noisy without earplugs, and the vents do nothing for the misting up. It's a right old draughtbag and no mistake...but it was half price at the dealers when they were getting new stock in and the...

    Dealer recommendations

Is there any chance of a sticky thread where people can list/rate their local Yamaha dealer or parts supplier where they've received good service and would recommend them. I know that any such thread would be purely subjective, but might provide a useful resource for those living in simlar...

    Cooling Fan runs constantly

HI, Thanks to people posting useful suggestions, i've been able to track this down to a faulty fan motor relay as the temperature gauge is working ok and showing the correct temperature so therefore the thermostat/temperature sensor must be working ok. As it's bloody freezing at the moment...

    Cooling Fan runs constantly

Thanks for those of you who took the time to reply. WD40 didnt do the trick, my next plan is to try the fan relay as suggested, but without a Haynes, i'm not sure where it is. Is there also a temperature control sensor too? I'm really fed up with this now because i've done a lot of short trips...

Tank Range - What do you get?

I use mine for mainly commuting and on a good day this can mean 165miles before the last bar starts to flash. When this happens i put in about 13 litres which in turn averages about 57 mpg.

    Which color really is faster?

What do they call the dark blue colour used on my 2005 FZ6? I know it's the best because the day after i got it, a work colleage said to me "Your bike looks cool...it's like something that Batman would go to work on!" That does it for me, being fat old and balding and still being compared to a...

    Exhaust smell with passenger?

Same problem, it spoils an otherwise brilliant bike. Does anyone make an aftermarket system that that exits from the side like on a conventional bike?

    Cooling Fan runs constantly

Temperature gauge shows normal running temperature (about half way up the scale after about fifteen mins running in traffic and the bottom bar on the rev counter stops flashing around the same time). As i said before it's straight after a really sustained wet period here in Blighty. Looks like...

    Cooling Fan runs constantly

Hi Guys, I'm a newbie on this forum. Can anyone help with a small problem. The fan on my 05 FZ6 has begun to run constantly as soon as the engine runs, even from cold. It's only just begun to happen recently and during a very wet spell. I'm wondering if this could be caused by water entering...

british fazer forum..do you use any

Hi, I've used the FOC U forum for a while and I admit that it's geared to older model FZ600s. Although, the Hot Poop section is worth a look as it's a good place to learn about maintenance stuff. And they seem to organise a fair few rideouts so I guess that makes it a healthy club.
