No rear axle bolt alignment marks, why?

My handy-dandy, high-dollar alignment tool is a $1.75 curtain rod... The cheapest, most basic curtain rod is the one you need (the one where it curves 90 degrees and the endpoint connects to the mount on the window seal). Loosen axle bolt. Dial in your proper chain tension on the left...

My 1st bike is going to be a FZ6

Keep in mind wrist position... Start with a level wrist because, compared to a rebel, it only takes a downward flick of the wrist to be accelerating more than the rebel. My MSF instructor had a story of a new rider coming leaving the DMV after get tax tags etc taken care of. He grabbed the...

    Raleigh NC?

There's some pretty country roads all around.... North of Raleigh in the Wake Forest, Youngsville area..... Northern Durham county as some nice country roads. South Orange County (Chapel Hill to Pittsboro area). The Dragon is 4 or 5 hours away; however, 100 miles away is Smith Mountain Lake...

    rpm's!!!!

I originally thought about reducing the rear sprocket size to bring down rpms; but, changed my mind. My perspective is... My beater Saturn with 166000 miles and in great mechanical shape... 70 mph turns at 2500 RPM... Redline of 5500 (45% of redline value) My stock FZ6.... 75 mph...

    Differences between fz6 fz6s and fz6s2??

I thought it was that there was a single FZ6 in '04 - '06 and '07 introduced the FZ6S (ie the same horsepower and specs as the '04-'06 models) and the FZ6S2 was less horsepower and a few other small technical changes.

The one headlight on the "Home Page" bike...

Maybe not quite so simple; but, da#N that looks nice! you got any profile shots?

The one headlight on the "Home Page" bike...

I'm a new FZ6 owner ('05) and am really happy with it... Looking at the bike with one headlight on on the homepage got me thinking. Every time I pull up to a destination, people always say "you've got a headlight out". I tell them that its supposed to be that way and that both lights are...

So a Harley Worker Comes in....

Funny... My harley story goes back summer before last. Me fairly fresh out of MSF, maybe 800-1000 miles under my belt, riding my 300cc Johnny Pag chinese bike, in my neon mesh jacket. I walk out of the store and getting my gear on when across the parking lot this guy fires up his loud...

    A question about heat...

So when you removed the fairing, did you notice better engine heat dissipation? I just purchased an 05 fz6 and will take possession in a couple of days. Feeling so much engine heat was new to me.... and on this string of 100 degree days in NC its a bit overwhelming. I just came from...
