I wish I had, I'll ask my brother if he has some before pics the next time I see him and post them up if he has. All I know is that it was a total wreck with a bees nest in the middle! The bike was exported to India, hence it surviving relatively intact and then imported back here a few years...

I passed my test back in November (2008) and bough my first bike, an FZ6 Fazer S2 new in January 2009 (58 plate). I got a great deal on the bike..but that's another...
It was pouring with rain when I picked my new FZ6 Fazer up 8 weeks ago. The sales team were putting bets on that I wouldn't turn up but I did! I was nervous about picking the bike up but all the nerves soon went as soon as I rode away from the store.
Go steady and you'll be fine. :thumbup...
Is that because you've paid more attention to the chain since first spotting the rust or do you think it's the Shell Ultra chain lube that's stopping it?

Oops (he says red faced) I left it for about 2 hours then went for a 50 minute ride. I should have guessed but lesson learned!
Thanks also Sanger for the advice about taking the bike on a run to warm the chain before lubing. ;)

I've done some wet road riding and the garage the bike is stored in is a little damp which doesn't help. I'm in Castleford by the way. Not too far away from you.
I've spent 2 hours cleaning the chain today with a stiff toothbrush, paraffin and a selection of rags. The chain...

It is fine rust on my chain but I now realise from reading all your kind replies that it's not the end of the world and will clean off. I'm buying a small nylon brush and a small wire brush if I can at the weekend and I'll try both kerosene/paraffin...

I bought my new FZ6 Fazer from a UK dealer about 9 weeks ago. I have since done 600 miles (mostly dry ones) and had the 6 week (or 600 mile) service at 430 miles.
The bike is like new, always cleaned, polished, Scottoiler FS 365'd...
