  • Glad to hear that you had a nice ride! I went for a ride in the Santa Cruz mountains with a group a couple of weeks ago to practice riding in the rain. Other than that, I haven't been on any pleasure rides. I commute almost every day though, so I'm on the bike. It will be nice to go on some pleasure rides once the weather gets nicer. We should go for a ride sometime.
Hey, sorry for the delay! I bought my lower fairings from a member here on the forum. He bought them here:
    Kelly's Cycle Centre Ltd.
    1042 Upper Wellington Street
    Hamilton, ON
    L9A 3S6

    PH (905) 385-5977

    They are Yamaha Genuine Parts

They cost 789.95 plus 126.39 US dollars as of July 2008

They are only available in Canada for some reason... Hope this helps! Doug
    Hey KB,
Congrats on the new bike! Did you buy the bike new? If not, you got lucky to find an '07 with so few miles! I haven't found a good and cheap mechanic in the area. The only two places I have taken my bike are GP Sports and San Jose Yamaha. Both are overpriced and busy, but both are good. Since the first service covers many things, I would suggest to spend the money to have it done. I like the mechanics at SJ Yamaha a little better. They are certified by Yamaha, work on only Yamahas, and are pretty friendly and helpful. After the first service, the routine maintenance consists mostly of oil changes and chain lubrication that you can easily do yourself and requires only basic tools. I'd be happy to show you how to do the oil changes and chain lubrication so that you can do them yourself and save money in the future.

    Good luck,
    Travis
