I just joined today also and think its a cool site. I live in the state of Michigan in the USA. I bought a 2005 FZ6 about 2 months ago and like the bike alot, it is black and silver. I have alot of automotive mechanic knowledge but know nothing about cycles. The basics mechanics are understandable but I sappose I'll need to purchase a shop manual for the bike or maybe ask other members of this forum who I need to talk to. I got time in riding to and from work (26 miles round trip) and some on the side but the ridding season for the year is almost to a end. My maine focus for now is learning how to ride safely and gaining as much knowledge as I can to keep me safe. I just purchased a book(Sport Riding Techniques by Nick lenatsch) that was suggested to me by a friend with years of riding and is a instructore for "track days" training. The book is very good and has helped me to understand alot so far.
