Looking at these choices I would pick a Ducati ST3. Has more character, as much torque as the triumph and much better handling wise. The cbr1100x would be my choice from your options - a blast on the open road, reliable and good two up. I got a vfr800 and it clicks all the boxes. Much more...
Heated gloves are the most expensive solution, but are also the warmest. If you ride on the motorway for a long time, than wind blockers will also help such as these General Accessories, Motorcycles and Scooters, 2008 FZ6, Hand Guard Visors. The Held Freezer gloves that someone mentioned here...
What year is the bike? Any modifications done? In general, $3400 for this many mile bike seems too much (granted I don't know what year, mods, etc...). You should be able to pick up an FZ6S2 (2007+) for about $3500 with many less miles. I gave away my 2008 FZ6 with 11.5k miles, Givi trunk, Puig...
Yep, the F6R has 20% more torque from 6-8k rpm.. In fact, most magazines write about how the engine is more powerful in the usable street range. Up, above 10k rpm the FZ6 is much more powerful.
Very good price for a very underrated bike. The Rotax v twin is supposed to be bullet proof and the ergos of this one are better than most repli-racers.
Congrats! I test rode the Tiger at Americade - nice 24 mile ride in the twisties with a broken in Tiger 800. it was great! Much more torque everywhere than the FZ6 and quite flickable due to the narrow tires. I really like the triple engine. Nice choice! Enjoy!
I think such big engines are overkill with 2 up since you are much more likely to be riding more sedately. To some degree, if I twist the throttle, I would rather have a slower response when I am with a passenger otherwise I will loose the passenger. Honestly, even the FZ6 has plenty of power...
Both good. VFR better in many ways (suspension, drivetrain smoothness, stability, quality), but FZ6 is a great bike as well. I have the VFR and still miss my FZ6. The FZ6 was better for the city - somewhat lighter and more comfortable for the city.
I had an FZ6 for 2.5 years and 11,000 miles (2008) and now have a 2007 VFR. Both have Givi trunks which my wife is accustomed to. The FZ6 seat and passenger pegs (2007+) are very comfortable for passengers. The VFR is also very comfortable. My wife liked the FZ6 seat better. Both are great for...
Congrats! nice bike. i went the same way. I was trying to decide between the Sprint and the VFR and I got a deal on the VFR I could not refuse. Both are similar bikes in many qays except the sprint has the superior engine. Enjoy your new bike!
