I was able to get new shims today so ai tried it again using your method. It makes much more sense now. I did the exhaust cam first and everything was lined up PERFECTLY. Then I did the intake and its ALMOST perfect, its off ever so slightly.... I had to rotate a hair past T to get the sprocket...

Wait just thought of this: Can I align the marks on the sprockets, slack out and remove the cam chain, turn the crank to the "T" and put the chain back on? Am I missing something?

Im checking my valves this weekend and got a new gasket for the head is there a specific type of sealant or glue I use to set this into the head before I put the head back onto the motor? Should I put a trace of engine oil on the gasket before setting it on the motor? thanks!
