It's just so hard with this election. There are so many heated debates, it feels like everyone has a very strong opinion.
To me, this makes me even more disgusted with McCain. Such a blatant and hypocritical political move. She might be a good lady, but she wasn't chosen for her qualities, she was chosen for political positioning. Not to mention the simple fact that she is someone who the Republicans believe will be easy to shut-up (due to inexperience) and get keep their current state in place.
Bring on the flames, I don't care.![]()
Actually she shares many of McCain's beliefs, the most obvious being the campaign to clean up the corruption and pork barrel politics of Washington. The idea of McCain being a third term for Bush is absurd, he is the furthest thing from Bush in the Republican party. He agrees that lower taxes are a good thing. He agrees that we shouldn't run from Iraq before the country is able to stand on its own. Other than that he is nothing like Bush. He is not a Washington insider, he is not a social conservative, he is against pork, he is for campain finance reform, and he is a very strongly outspoken proponent for government ethics.
Speaking of hypocracy... don't you think choosing a long time Washington insider like Biden is a bit hypocritical for a candidate blue in the face from screaming "change"? Biden is experienced, an insider, a white guy, strong on foreign policy, and Obama doesn't like him. Seems like a political decision to me. He was lacking in certain areas, he chose someone that wasn't. Same as McCain. Nothing wrong with that at all. Biden was also a good choice. He would actually be a much better presidential candidate than Obama IMO but we'll save that for another time. Bottom line- both VP candidates mitigate some of the concerns voters have about the presidential candidates, mainly that McCain is old and not conservative enough and that Obama is black and has virtually no experience in Washington, on foreign policy, or in any executive role whatsoever. These VP's were both chosen to mitgate the extremes and make the presidential candidates more electable.
Also you're funny if you think a smart, very successful, hard working mother of 5 who also happens to be the top executive for her state will be easy to "shut up".
